At 6:00 a.m. this morning, October 23, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his delegation left Hanoi for Kazan City (Russian Federation) to attend the BRICS Summit at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin. This is also the Prime Minister's first working trip to Russia.
Taking place from October 23-24, the BRICS Leaders' Meeting is an important conference within the framework of cooperation between BRICS and developing countries. Seeing off the Prime Minister and his delegation at Noi Bai airport were Minister and Head of the Government Office Tran Van Son and Russian Ambassador to Vietnam Gennady Bezdetko. Also joining the delegation were Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son; Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien; Deputy Minister of National Defense Vu Minh Luong; Deputy Minister of Public Security Le Quoc Hung; Deputy Head of the Government Office Nguyen Sy Hiep; Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Hang; Deputy Head of the Central External Relations Commission Truong Quang Hoai Nam; Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Do Thanh Trung; Deputy Minister of Transport Nguyen Xuan Sang; Deputy Minister of Finance Bui Van Khang; Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam Pham Quang Dung. This year's BRICS Summit has the theme "BRICS with the Southern Hemisphere: Building a Better World Together", with the participation of leaders of BRICS members and leaders of more than 30 guest countries, including developing countries in the continents and a number of international organizations. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will attend the plenary session with the theme "BRICS and the Southern Hemisphere: Building a Better World Together". According to Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Minh Hang, this theme affirms the focus and priority of the conference is to strengthen cooperation and coordination between BRICS and developing countries, aiming to join hands to build a better world for all people. Leaders will focus on discussing solutions to promote economic growth, enhance economic connectivity between BRICS and southern hemisphere countries, enhance cooperation in responding to global challenges, promote new growth drivers such as digital economy, green economy, circular economy, science and technology, innovation... The Prime Minister's working trip to Russia will convey the image of a peaceful , cooperative, developing, dynamic, innovative Vietnam, building an independent, self-reliant economy associated with deep and effective international integration, and mobilizing external resources to serve national development. At the same time, through attending the conference, Vietnam will continue to promote and deepen cooperation with Russia and other countries.
