The first leg of the final between Vietnam and Thailand at the AFF Cup 2024 was extremely tense and dramatic. Thailand has always been a formidable opponent in regional tournaments, but the Vietnamese team, with their resilient fighting spirit, put their opponents in a difficult situation. Xuan Son and his teammates created more dangerous situations, but in the first half, the home team Vietnam still could not take advantage of the opportunity.
However, in the second half, the Vietnamese team played extremely well when coach Kim Sang-sik made some adjustments in terms of personnel. And Xuan Son once again made the Viet Tri stadium explode with two dreamlike goals. The away team also made the Vietnamese audience stop in their tracks when they scored a goal to reduce the score to 1-2.
But in the end, the home team deservedly won and only needed a draw in the second leg on January 5 away, the Vietnamese team would win the 2024 AFF Cup. At 9:30 a.m. on January 3, the Vietnamese team will leave for Thailand.
