This is the fifth time Vietnam has been invited to attend a G20 Summit and the first time Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has attended a G20 Summit.

According to the special correspondent of VNA, at exactly 5:05 p.m. on November 16 local time (ie 3:05 a.m. on November 17 Hanoi time), the plane carrying Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation arrived at Galeao Military Airport in Rio de Janeiro, starting a working trip to attend the G20 Summit and conduct a number of bilateral activities in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from November 16 to 19 at the invitation of the President of the Federative Republic of Brazil, G20 Chair 2024 Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and his wife.
According to the VNA special correspondent, this is the fifth time Vietnam has been invited to attend a G20 Summit and the first time Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has attended a G20 Summit.
Welcoming Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife and the Vietnamese delegation at Rio de Janeiro airport were representatives of the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Vietnamese Ambassador to Brazil Bui Van Nghi; officials and staff of the Embassy and representatives of the Vietnamese community in Brazil.
The 19th G20 Summit has the theme "Building a Fair World and a Sustainable Planet" with the participation of Leaders of official G20 members, heads of state and government of 19 guest countries and leaders of 15 key international organizations.
It is expected that by attending and speaking at activities within the framework of the G20 Summit, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will convey the message of a dynamic, innovative Vietnam, ready to shoulder global responsibilities; proactively, positively and responsibly contributing to key and urgent issues of the world, commensurate with Vietnam's position and strength as it enters a new era of national development.
On this occasion, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will also have bilateral meetings with leaders of economies, countries and international organizations attending the Conference.
In particular, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will have bilateral activities with Brazil, such as holding talks with Brazilian President Lula da Silva and attending activities to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Brazil.
Through these activities, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s working trip affirms Vietnam’s position, prestige, responsibility and contributions in important international forums; further strengthens and opens a new phase in the relationship between Vietnam and Brazil and other countries and international organizations; contributes to peace, stability, cooperation and development in the two regions and the world./.
