
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh thanked Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed for attending the Conference on behalf of the UN Secretary-General, highly appreciating the positive relationship between Vietnam and the UN as well as the activities of UN organizations in Vietnam.
Informing about Vietnam's socio -economic development situation and the positive results achieved in hunger eradication, poverty reduction, and implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals; towards the goal of becoming a developed, high-income country by 2045, the Prime Minister asked the United Nations to continue to pay attention to and support Vietnam in developing science and technology, innovation, equitable energy transition, developing a green economy, and accelerating the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.
The Prime Minister affirmed that Vietnam is a responsible member of the United Nations and asked the United Nations to continue supporting ASEAN's central role in the regional structure. Vietnam is ready to play an active role in encouraging parties to seek solutions for peace, stability and prosperity in the Asia-Pacific region.

UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed highly appreciated Vietnam's leadership role in the green transition process, demonstrated through the success of the P4G Conference; expressed her impression of Vietnam's remarkable development, as well as Vietnam's active participation not only in UN forums but also in UN peacekeeping missions.
Welcoming the positive developments in the Vietnam-United Nations relationship and thanking Vietnam for taking the lead in supporting the One UN Initiative, the Deputy Secretary-General shared about the challenges that multilateralism is facing, including the risk of a trade war with global impacts. In that context, the United Nations hopes to continue receiving support from member states for the role of the United Nations in addressing global issues.
Ms. Amina Mohammed affirmed that the United Nations will continue to prioritize promoting investment in technology, artificial intelligence, climate change response, financing for green growth and developing sustainable agricultural systems, in order to implement the Sustainable Development Goals on time. She also affirmed that she will actively discuss with partners to soon implement many projects in Vietnam within the framework of the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP).
On this occasion, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh sent his regards to United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres and invited him to soon return to visit Vietnam.
