Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh proposed that Cambodia continue to grant citizenship to people of Vietnamese origin in Cambodia; promote border cooperation; and coordinate in the fight against transnational crimes.
On the afternoon of February 19, at the Government Office, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sar Sokha, who is visiting and working in Vietnam.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh proposed that Cambodia continue to grant citizenship to people of Vietnamese origin in Cambodia; promote border cooperation; coordinate in the fight against transnational crimes, especially drug crimes, human trafficking, and online fraud rings.
Welcoming Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sar Sokha's visit to Vietnam, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh sent his best regards and congratulations to President of the Senate, President of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP) Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister Hun Manet and senior Cambodian leaders.
At the same time, he congratulated the great and comprehensive achievements that the Cambodian people have achieved in recent years; he believed that Cambodia would continue to gain even greater new achievements in building a peaceful, stable and prosperous Cambodia.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh was pleased to see that the Vietnam-Cambodia relationship continues to be firmly consolidated and increasingly comprehensively developed, affirming that Vietnam always attaches importance to and gives top priority to continuously consolidating and developing the good neighborly relationship, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, long-term sustainability with Cambodia; always supports a peaceful, stable, prosperous Cambodia, with its role and position increasingly affirmed in the region and the world.
Recalling Cambodia's assistance in Vietnam's struggle for national independence and Vietnam's support for Cambodia against the Pol Pot genocidal regime, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated the relationship between the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security and the Cambodian Ministry of Interior, welcoming the results of the very successful talks between the two Ministers, demonstrating deep understanding and sharing between the two sides, contributing significantly to the concretization of high-level agreements.
The Prime Minister believes that the two ministries will develop a friendly cooperative relationship, together solve issues of mutual concern, and increase exchanges and sharing on strategic issues.
At the same time, effectively coordinate with senior leaders of the two countries on security work, and promptly and effectively resolve issues arising from the grassroots; cooperate in digital transformation, build population data, etc.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh suggested that in the coming time, Cambodia and the Cambodian Ministry of Interior continue to pay attention to and direct the strengthening of cooperation and the fight against all types of crimes, especially transnational crimes such as drug crimes, human trafficking, and online fraud rings using Cambodia to operate.
At the same time, fight against hostile forces that sabotage the two countries and their relations; rescue and repatriate Vietnamese citizens who are being detained and forced to work due to online fraud in Cambodia.
In particular, promote the consideration and granting of citizenship to Vietnamese people who live and work stably and legally, integrate well into the local community and act as a bridge of friendship between the two countries; promote border demarcation and marker planting, resolve outstanding issues on the border, and build a peaceful, stable, friendly, cooperative and mutually developing border.
Sincerely thanking the Prime Minister for taking the time to receive the delegation; conveying the greetings and congratulations of the President of the Senate, President of the CPP Hun Sen, Prime Minister Hun Manet and Cambodian leaders to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of Cambodia Sar Sokha said that the delegation's working trip to Vietnam this time continues to implement the agreements and cooperation mechanisms that the two countries' senior leaders have agreed upon.
At the same time, he affirmed that in recent times, Cambodia's socio-economy has continued to recover and develop strongly, but inseparable from Vietnam's cooperation and assistance.
Agreeing with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's opinion and stating that in the current context, each country cannot develop alone but must cooperate and develop together, especially with traditional neighboring countries, the Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior expressed his appreciation for the achievements of the Vietnam-Cambodia cooperative relationship that generations of leaders and people of the two countries have created.
Young Cambodian leaders like him will continue to promote and constantly cultivate the Vietnam-Cambodia relationship to become increasingly effective, substantive, and strong.
With its functions and tasks, the Cambodian Ministry of Interior will closely coordinate with the Ministry of Public Security and other ministries, branches and localities of Vietnam to effectively combat all types of crimes, especially drug crimes and cyber fraud crimes.
At the same time, promote delegation exchanges, cooperate in human resource training; educate the people of the two countries, especially the young generation, about the tradition of good relations between the two countries; continue to foster the Vietnam-Cambodia relationship; consider the legal status, create favorable conditions for people of Vietnamese origin to live and do business stably and legally in Cambodia./.
