Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated the Federation - an organization representing freight forwarders and logistics companies in over 150 countries, for supporting the Vietnam Logistics Business Association to host the FIATA Annual Congress in 2025. This event is an opportunity for Vietnam to attract investment in logistics infrastructure in Vietnam, promote Vietnam's potential and strengths to global transport businesses, thereby promoting Vietnam's position as an international and regional transit point. In addition, the event will open up opportunities to promote import and export, enhance competitiveness for businesses and promote the development of Vietnam's service industries.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh thanked the Federation for being an important bridge in promoting cooperation between the Vietnamese logistics service business community and the Associations and logistics service business communities around the world, contributing to the development of the logistics industry, thereby reducing costs and prices, increasing the competitiveness of the economy, businesses, products and services.

The Prime Minister appreciated the Federation for supporting the Vietnam Logistics Business Association to host the FIATA Annual Congress in 2025 in Hanoi; requested the Federation's leaders to pay attention, support and closely coordinate with Vietnamese agencies to successfully organize this important event.

The Prime Minister said that Vietnam is promoting the development of strategic infrastructure, especially transport infrastructure and digital infrastructure, and strengthening economic connectivity with countries in the region and internationally. Vietnam advocates developing an integrated and modern logistics industry, becoming a service industry that brings high added value associated with the development of goods production and transport infrastructure; building a sustainable supply chain, improving the quality of human resources, promoting digital transformation and technology application. Vietnam is maximizing its unique potential, outstanding opportunities, geographical advantages, and enhancing connectivity to soon turn Vietnam into an important logistics hub in the region, focusing on developing maritime transport.

The Head of Government suggested that the Federation pay attention to strengthening cooperation with Vietnam, supporting the development of the Vietnam Logistics Services Development Strategy to 2035, with a vision to 2045, sharing visions, thinking, policy advice, learning experiences, international cooperation, calling for investors in major seaports, supporting human resource training, technology, governance, planning, further improving the competitiveness and quality of Vietnam's logistics services towards digital transformation, green transformation, circular economy, increasingly approaching the advanced level of the region and the world, contributing to building an independent, autonomous economy associated with proactive, active international integration, deep, substantive and effective. The Vietnamese Government is committed to accompanying domestic and foreign partners, supporting and creating all favorable conditions for economic - investment - trade - service cooperation activities, including cooperation in developing logistics services.

FIATA President Ivan Petrov shared his practical impressions in the port city of Hai Phong, highly appreciated the rapid development of the logistics sector in Vietnam and the vision and goals of the Vietnamese Government in this field, which have many similarities with FIATA's vision. FIATA wishes to strengthen cooperation and support with Vietnam.

Mr. Ivan Petrov assessed Vietnam as a very safe and potential place for investment. He said that the organization of the FIATA Annual General Meeting 2025, as well as FIATA's increased cooperation with Vietnamese agencies, will contribute to promoting the development, digitalization, and greening of the logistics industry in Vietnam, helping Vietnam become a larger center for logistics, intermodal transport, etc.

It is known that in 2022, Vietnam was ranked 11th out of 50 emerging logistics markets in the world. In 2023, Vietnam ranked 43rd in the logistics performance index. Vietnam's average annual logistics growth rate is 14-16%, bringing the contribution of logistics to the annual GDP to 4-5%; making an important contribution to increasing Vietnam's total import and export turnover (over 730 billion USD in 2022).
