(Chinhphu.vn) - During his official visit to the Czech Republic, on the afternoon of January 19 local time, in the capital city of Prague, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife visited the family of Mr. Hoang Dinh Thang, a typical overseas Vietnamese family in this country.

Mr. Hoang Dinh Thang is currently a member of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, President of the Union of Vietnamese Associations in Europe, and Honorary President of the Union of Vietnamese Associations in the Czech Republic. At the end of 2024, Mr. Hoang Dinh Thang was honored to receive the First Class Labor Medalfrom the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. The Union of Vietnamese Associations in the Czech Republic also received this noble award.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed his pride and congratulated Mr. Hoang Dinh Thang's family as well as many overseas Vietnamese families in the Czech Republic in particular and in European countries and the world in general for having a happy, successful life, integrating and asserting themselves in the host country; praising Mr. Hoang Dinh Thang for his act of supporting the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic to integrate with the host country; and building a constantly growing Vietnamese association in the Czech Republic. The Prime Minister suggested that, with his knowledge and experience, Mr. Hoang Dinh Thang continue to support the community, especially young people and new immigrants in legal knowledge, culture, life experience, business experience, etc.; support and help more Vietnamese people to go to the Czech Republic in particular and European countries in general to study, work and do business; at the same time always turn towards the homeland, contributing to consolidating and building the great solidarity bloc of the Vietnamese people and fostering the good traditional relationship between Vietnam and the Czech Republic.

On the occasion of the New Year, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh wished Mr. Hoang Dinh Thang's family and overseas Vietnamese people good health, happiness, success, peace and prosperity; together with the whole country entering a new era - the era of national development. With sincere thanks to the leaders of the Party, State, and Prime Minister for their affection, attention, facilitation, support and recognition for our compatriots abroad in general and him personally, Mr. Hoang Dinh Thang affirmed that he will continue to dedicate himself and make every effort to gather and build community solidarity, contribute to building a strong overseas Vietnamese community and contribute to building the homeland and the country as the Prime Minister's opinion. The Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic currently has nearly 100,000 people, most of whom have good incomes, stable lives, and are highly appreciated by local authorities and people for their diligence, hard work and integration into the local society. Since 2013, the Czech Vietnamese community has been allowed by the Czech Government to have representation in the country's National Minorities Council . According to a 2023 survey by the Czech Public Opinion Research Center on the level of sympathy of the Czech people towards ethnic minorities, the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic ranked second out of 14 ethnic minorities.
