On August 20, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his delegation worked with the Standing Committee of Kon Tum Provincial Party Committee on the implementation of socio-economic development tasks, ensuring national defense and security, building the Party and political system; orientations, tasks, and solutions for the coming time; and resolving a number of recommendations of the province.
At the meeting, in addition to reporting on the socio-economic development, national defense and security situation, Kon Tum province proposed to the Prime Minister a number of contents to develop the dynamic economic zone of Kon Plong district, such as promptly approving the task of formulating the Master Plan for the construction of Mang Den Tourist Area; considering and approving the policy of adding the Quang Ngai - Kon Tum expressway to the road network planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050; investing in the remaining section of National Highway 24 with a length of about 62.2km through the two provinces of Kon Tum and Quang Ngai.

In addition, Kon Tum province proposed that the Prime Minister pay attention to investing in National Highway 40B; consider and agree on the policy of opening the Ho Le secondary border gate; consider deciding on the policy of changing the purpose of forest use to implement a number of projects; consider allowing Kon Tum province to pilot planting Ngoc Linh ginseng under the canopy of special-use forests and protective forests in 9 communes.

Speaking at the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that Kon Tum must develop faster, stronger, more comprehensively and sustainably; maintain national defense and security, ethnic and religious areas and borders; build an area of equal, healthy and effective international economic and cooperation; and preserve and promote national cultural identity.
To achieve this goal, in the immediate future, Kon Tum needs to focus on prioritizing a number of tasks such as reviewing the goals, tasks, and requirements of the 13th National Congress of the Party; Resolutions of the Politburo, Government, and National Assembly; Resolutions of the Provincial Party Congress and directions of the Prime Minister so that the province can focus on leadership, direction, and effective implementation, striving to achieve and exceed the set goals.
The province needs to resolve legal issues related to land and forests, on that basis, free up resources, focus on rapid and sustainable development. The province must mobilize resources such as public-private partnerships, effectively use central and local resources to develop transport infrastructure, tourism, culture, and energy infrastructure.

Kon Tum province must promote people's association, establish cooperatives, harmoniously combine business development, and ensure people's interests.
The Prime Minister assessed that Kon Tum has a large land area, a sparse population, many distinct potentials, outstanding opportunities, competitive advantages, and sufficient conditions to develop the above-mentioned goals quickly, strongly, comprehensively, and sustainably in the coming time. The province has achieved a number of positive results in terms of growth, economic restructuring, business development, stabilizing people's lives, and ensuring national defense and security. The province's results have contributed to the overall achievements of the whole country. On behalf of the Government's working delegation, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh commended and acknowledged the achievements of the province in the past time.
In addition, the Prime Minister also pointed out a number of things that Kon Tum province has not done well, such as the limited economic scale; slow economic transformation; limited mobilization of resources, especially public-private partnership; inadequate transport infrastructure; precious Ngoc Linh ginseng has not been properly researched, planned, or invested in; and the rate of trained workers is still low compared to the whole country.

Regarding the upcoming tasks, the Prime Minister requested the province to implement the resolutions and conclusions of the Party and the State related to the functions, tasks and authority of the province; promote the spirit of solidarity, self-reliance, and rising from one's own hands, mind, sky and land; promote, preserve and conserve historical and cultural traditions; promote decentralization, increase personal responsibility, eliminate the mentality of waiting for, relying on, and shirking responsibility; build a clean and strong Party and political system, improve the leadership capacity and fighting strength of Party organizations and Party members; build a team of professional, clean, dedicated cadres who serve the people, have capacity, qualities and prestige.
The province needs to pay special attention to political stability, maintain national security and defense, build a solid national defense posture, a people's security posture, and a solid people's hearts posture. To have a solid people's hearts posture, the province must resolve the legitimate rights of the people; always be vigilant against hostile forces from outside.
The province needs to continue to promote the fight against corruption and negativity; thoroughly resolve mass complaints and cases that go beyond the level of authority.
Regarding specific tasks, the Prime Minister suggested that the province should promote and improve planning work; develop green economy, digital economy, circular economy, sharing economy; promote regional connectivity through the transport system and planning work; promote and rationally restructure the agricultural sector from agricultural production development to agricultural economy; promote industrial and tourism development; improve the efficiency of land use management and state budget; ensure the progress and quality of planning work, thereby liberating resources and fully exploiting potential; continue to build policies and mechanisms to attract and effectively use resources; promote disbursement of public investment capital; focus on human resource development; promote effective administrative reform, eliminate cumbersome administrative procedures that affect people.
The province needs to effectively implement social security work; strengthen national defense and security, and promote foreign affairs. In the new school year, the Prime Minister asked the province to review and arrange appropriate teaching staff, and not to let textbooks run out.
The Prime Minister basically agreed with the province's proposal and assigned ministries and branches to handle Kon Tum province based on their functions and authority. If it exceeds their authority, they will report to the Government.
Previously, on the evening of August 19, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited and worked in Kon Plong district, Kon Tum province. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh surveyed the planned area of Mang Den airport; the planned location for the Kon Tum - Quang Ngai expressway. The Prime Minister and the delegation watched a presentation and listened to the consultant unit's report on the development of Mang Den National Tourist Area and the connecting traffic infrastructure system. The Prime Minister also visited Mang Den Kindergarten and Kon Pring Community Cultural Tourism Village (Mang Den town, Kon Plong district).
