(Dan Tri) - Encouraging investment in strategic projects; considering building a transit center and crude oil reserves in Vietnam... are recommendations that Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh made when meeting with the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh held talks with Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on the afternoon of October 29 (local time) in the capital Riyadh. Welcoming Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to attend the 8th Future Investment Initiative and speaking as the main guest of the Conference, the Crown Prince affirmed that the participation of Vietnam, a typical country in dynamic economic development in Asia, opens up new opportunities for investors, making an important contribution to the success of the Conference and to the development strategy in the region. The two Prime Ministers highly appreciated the remarkable progress in the bilateral relationship between Vietnam and Saudi Arabia over the past 25 years, and agreed to cooperate closely to bring the relationship between the two countries to a new height. Making economic cooperation a key pillar in the bilateral relationship, making Saudi Arabia one of the leading investors in Vietnam and aiming to increase bilateral trade turnover to over 10 billion USD by 2030... are the strategic directions agreed upon by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his Saudi Arabian counterpart. The two Prime Ministers identified the pillars of "future cooperation" between the two countries as innovation, green transformation, digital transformation; makingeducation , tourism, labor and people-to-people exchange a solid foundation for the relationship between the two countries. The two sides will also continue to closely coordinate and support each other on regional and world issues. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh encouraged Saudi Arabia to invest in strategic, symbolic and breakthrough projects in Vietnam; consider building a transit and storage center for crude oil and refined petrochemical products in Vietnam for export to markets in the Southeast Asian region. He also expected Saudi Arabia to exploit Vietnam's potential for developing the Halal industry, connecting innovation centers of the two countries; cooperate in building an innovation ecosystem in Vietnam and share experiences in building an international financial center in Ho Chi Minh City. The Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia agreed with the proposals of his counterpart. He suggested that the two sides direct ministries and branches to continue discussions to concretize cooperation proposals and realize the potential for bilateral cooperation. During the talks, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh assigned the ministers participating in the delegation to immediately promote exchanges with Saudi Arabian partners to concretize the results of the exchanges between the two Prime Ministers. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the 8th Future Investment Initiative Conference and visited and worked in Saudi Arabia at the invitation of Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Mohammed Bin Salman for two days, October 29-30. This is the first visit by the head of the Vietnamese Government to Saudi Arabia since the two countries established diplomatic relations, and it is also the first time the Prime Minister has been the main guest and the only senior leader from Asia to speak at the 8th Future Investment Initiative Conference organized by Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia is the largest economy in the Gulf region and is currently one of Vietnam's leading economic partners in the Middle East.
