VOV.VN - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh briefly met with President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedow and Prime Minister of Ethiopia Abiy Ahmed.
On the evening of October 23, 2024, local time, within the framework of activities attending the expanded BRICS Leaders' Summit in Kazan, Russian Federation, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh briefly met with President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedow and Prime Minister of Ethiopia Abiy Ahmed.

At the meeting with the President of Kazakhstan, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that Kazakhstan is an important partner of Vietnam in the Central Asian region; Vietnam always attaches importance to and wishes to further strengthen the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and Kazakhstan that has been nurtured by the leaders and people of the two countries over the past 30 years.
President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev congratulated President Luong Cuong on his new position; expressed his wish to soon welcome General Secretary To Lam and President Luong Cuong to visit Kazakhstan; thanked the Vietnamese Government and people for the warm and thoughtful reception given to him during his visit to Vietnam in August 2023; and reiterated his good impressions of the people and country of Vietnam.
The two leaders agreed to increase the exchange of delegations at all levels; promote economic, trade and investment cooperation, strive to increase the trade turnover between the two countries to a higher level; create more favorable conditions for cooperation in transportation, aviation, tourism and people-to-people exchange between the two countries. In a meeting with President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedow , Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that Vietnam always attaches importance to the traditional friendship and wishes to deepen cooperation with Turkmenistan in all fields, especially increasing exchanges and contacts at all levels; exploiting more effectively the potential for cooperation in trade and investment; promoting tourism, cultural exchange and people-to-people exchange. The President of Turkmenistan highly appreciated the role and position of Vietnam and the achievements Vietnam has made in the cause of national renewal and development; agreed to implement measures to promote the traditional relationship between the two countries in the coming time, especially promoting the exchange of delegations and high-level contacts, and finding solutions to strengthen bilateral economic cooperation. Regarding Ethiopia, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that the two countries share many similarities in the path of national liberation struggle; affirmed that Vietnam wishes to further consolidate multifaceted cooperation with Ethiopia, one of Vietnam's important partners in the African region; proposed that the two sides strengthen cooperation in potential areas such as trade, investment and agriculture. Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed affirmed that he attaches importance to the relationship with Vietnam and is very impressed with Vietnam's socio-economic development achievements; highly appreciated Vietnam's position and role in the international arena; agreed that the two sides need to further promote bilateral cooperation in the coming time; expressed his hope to soon welcome high-ranking Vietnamese leaders to visit Ethiopia. On this occasion, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the leaders of Kazakhstan, Ethiopia and Turkmenistan exchanged views on a number of international and regional issues of mutual concern; affirmed to increase consultation and coordination at regional and international forums.
