Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh meets with the Vietnamese community in Brazil

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh speaks at a meeting with the Vietnamese community in Brazil and several South American countries.

At the meeting, the overseas Vietnamese representative said that they always look towards their homeland, always have faith in the development and bright future of the country; are very happy that the relationship between Vietnam and Brazil is increasingly developing, especially in the field of trade, demonstrated through the increasing trade turnover; hope that the Party and State will pay more attention to Vietnamese people living far away from the Fatherland.

Speaking, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh conveyed to the entire Vietnamese community in Brazil and several South American countries the warm regards and wishes for health and happiness from General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and other Party and State leaders.

The Prime Minister was pleased that in Brazil, no Vietnamese people are facing difficulties; they do business and live in accordance with the law, and their legal documents are guaranteed. According to the Prime Minister, Vietnamese people are basically successful abroad. The Vietnamese community in Brazil has many different generations, some of whom have lived here for decades; currently, they mainly live in Sao Paulo, are always united, supportive, and have a prosperous and happy life. The Prime Minister hopes that people will continue to promote this spirit.

The Prime Minister said that the two countries established diplomatic relations in 1989 and have always supported each other in the development process. The two countries have exchanged high-level delegations, but this has been going on for a long time. Economic, trade and investment relations are still the mainstay of the bilateral relationship; bilateral trade turnover will reach 7 billion USD in 2022; we are making efforts to sign trade agreements with South American countries, including Brazil.

According to the Prime Minister, Brazil has great potential for development, a large area, and is a relatively easy-going market. However, the two markets of Vietnam and Brazil have not met each other because of the distance. We have exchanges in defense education, culture, etc.

Pointing out that there is still a lot of room for bilateral relations, especially in terms of education and training and culture, the Prime Minister hoped that people would continue to develop the socio-economy, spread the Vietnamese spirit and culture, always look towards the homeland and the Fatherland, and contribute to bridging the relationship between the two countries.

Sharing about the socio-economic situation in the country, the Prime Minister stated that General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong affirmed that our country has never had such a foundation, potential, position and international prestige as it does today.

Up to now, the scale of the country's economy has grown strongly, the economy has grown higher year after year, social security has been ensured; political stability, national defense and security, independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity have been maintained; Vietnam's prestige in the international arena has been increasingly enhanced; many countries want to upgrade their relations with Vietnam.

The Prime Minister hopes that the Vietnamese people will continue to unite, turn towards their homeland and take care of a prosperous and happy life. The Prime Minister stated that in the upcoming official talks with President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, the Prime Minister will ask Brazil to continue creating favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community to live and do business stably and legally in Brazil.

The Prime Minister affirmed that the overseas Vietnamese community is a part and resource of the Vietnamese community. Therefore, the Party and the State always have the responsibility and make efforts to protect the legitimate and legal rights of overseas Vietnamese. The Prime Minister hopes that overseas Vietnamese will always be responsible for the country; do business and live legally, abide by the laws of the host country, and always be a bridge for the relationship between the two countries.

The Prime Minister wished the Vietnamese community in Brazil and South America good health and success.
