Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh congratulated Mr. Lawrence Wong on becoming Prime Minister of Singapore.

The two Prime Ministers were pleased to witness the unprecedented and comprehensive development of the bilateral cooperation in all aspects, especially in the economic field, in which the Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Parks (VSIP) network is considered a symbol of successful economic cooperation. Singapore is the first country with which Vietnam has established a Green Economy-Digital Economy Partnership (February 2023). The two countries agreed to take the relationship to a new level in the coming time.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that for Vietnam, Singapore is always an important partner in the region as well as in the world.

The Vietnamese Government will continue to closely coordinate with the Singaporean Government to develop the Strategic Partnership between the two countries more strongly, in depth, substantially and effectively, worthy of being a typical dynamic relationship in ASEAN and a model for promoting other intra-bloc cooperation mechanisms.

Vietnam is very interested in replicating the VSIP model and will create favorable conditions for more new generation VSIPs to operate effectively in Vietnam.

The Prime Minister thanked the Singaporean Government for always paying attention to training officials at all levels for Vietnam and suggested that the two sides strengthen defense and security cooperation, including the construction of a National Data Center; promote financial cooperation, education, training, tourism, and people-to-people exchange to enhance common understanding between the people of the two countries.

The Singaporean Prime Minister affirmed that he will continue to promote delegation exchanges, high-level contacts and all-level contacts as well as bilateral cooperation mechanisms, especially the annual meeting between the two countries' Prime Ministers to increase friendship and political trust.

Singapore hopes to work with Vietnam to effectively implement the Framework Agreement on Connecting the Two Economies and the Vietnam-Singapore Green Economy-Digital Economy Partnership, especially in the fields of clean energy and carbon credits, creating a premise to bring bilateral cooperation to a new level, both comprehensive and strategic.

Prime Minister Lawrence Wong also emphasized that he will ask cabinet ministers to continue to pay attention to and encourage businesses to expand new investments in Vietnam, along with improving the quality of FDI capital flows, prioritizing high-tech sectors, promoting the digital economy, circular economy, clean energy, semiconductors, and AI.

On regional issues, the two countries agreed to strengthen ASEAN solidarity, support Laos in successfully assuming the role of ASEAN Chair 2024, and pay due attention to the sustainable development of sub-regions in the region, including the Mekong sub-region, thereby actively contributing to ASEAN's self-reliance, prosperity and sustainable development, and promoting its central role in the region.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh respectfully invited the Singaporean Prime Minister and his wife to pay an official visit to Vietnam soon. Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong happily accepted the invitation.
