Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh arrives in the US capital, visits Georgetown University

On the morning of September 19 (local time, the same evening Vietnam time), Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the Vietnamese delegation arrived in Washington DC. This is the second stop on a working trip to the US with a more packed schedule than before.

After a full working day until the end of September 18 in San Francisco, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh boarded a special plane for an overnight flight from the West Coast to the East Coast.

His second stop is Washington DC with an even busier schedule.

Immediately after arriving on the morning of September 19 (local time), Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh went to Georgetown University to talk to students. This school was founded in 1789, just 13 years after the US became independent.

With such a long history, Georgetown University is the dream choice of many domestic and international students. Georgetown University has 11 undergraduate and graduate schools, including the School of Foreign Service, the School of Business, the School of Medicine, and the Law Center.

Leaving Georgetown University, the head of government then had a working lunch with semiconductor business executives organized by the American Semiconductor Industry Association.

During his two days in San Francisco, the Prime Minister visited many technology and semiconductor businesses and attended the Vietnam-US Business Forum on cooperation in innovation and technology.

This shows the interest of Vietnamese leaders in US businesses in the field of technology and semiconductor manufacturing. This is also a "new breakthrough" mentioned in the Joint Statement upgrading the relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership on September 10.

In the afternoon, the Prime Minister will meet with leaders of the US government and Congress before attending a ceremony to celebrate the Vietnam-US Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and the 78th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's visit to the US this time aims to attend the High-level Debate of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York and combine bilateral activities in the US.

For the United Nations, the trip aims to demonstrate that Vietnam is a responsible country, making active and effective contributions to international friends.

Regarding the Vietnam-US bilateral relationship, the Prime Minister's trip took place right after Vietnam and the US established a comprehensive strategic partnership, which is of great significance in concretizing the agreements that the two sides reached after upgrading their relationship.
