Meeting with voters in Can Tho, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that agencies are studying the implementation of the Ho Chi Minh City - Can Tho railway line extending to Ca Mau.
On the morning of December 15, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the National Assembly delegation of Can Tho City met with voters of Co Do district after the 8th session of the 15th National Assembly.

At the meeting, the Can Tho City National Assembly Delegation reported the results of the 8th Session of the 15th National Assembly, some activities of the National Assembly Delegation at the Session, listened to and received voters' opinions and recommendations; representatives of the Can Tho City People's Committee explained and received voters' opinions and recommendations under the local authority.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh discussed some more main contents about the highlights of the 8th Session of the 15th National Assembly; the summary of Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW of the 12th Party Central Committee "Some issues on continuing to innovate and reorganize the apparatus of the political system to be streamlined, effective and efficient"; direction and administration work, the socio-economic situation in 11 months of 2024 and tasks and solutions in the coming time.

In 2025, the Government determined to strive for GDP growth of about 8%, requiring all levels, sectors and localities to make more efforts; continue to operate monetary policy proactively, flexibly, promptly and effectively, in a synchronous, harmonious and close coordination with a reasonable, focused and key expansionary fiscal policy.
At the same time, it is necessary to focus on renewing traditional growth drivers (investment, export, consumption) and strongly promoting new growth drivers such as digital transformation, green transformation, emerging industries and fields; exploiting new development spaces such as outer space, sea space, underground space.
Promote the development of synchronous and modern strategic infrastructure, especially the development of all 5 modes of transport (road, air, rail, sea, inland waterway), striving to complete 3,000km of highways and over 1,000km of coastal roads by the end of 2025, of which the Mekong Delta region must strive to complete 400 - 500km of highways.
Regarding voters' proposals and recommendations, in addition to the responses from leaders of ministries, branches and localities, the Prime Minister responded to some specific issues.
Regarding railways, the Prime Minister said that along with the North-South high-speed railway project from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City, the Government and agencies are researching to deploy the Ho Chi Minh City - Can Tho railway line, extending to Ca Mau.
To clarify this information, Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee Tran Viet Truong said that the Ministry of Transport is preparing a pre-feasibility study report for the Ho Chi Minh City - Can Tho railway project with a total length of about 175km, passing through 6 provinces and cities: Binh Duong, Ho Chi Minh City, Long An, Tien Giang, Vinh Long and Can Tho.
Of which, the section passing through Can Tho is about 7.69km long, located in Tan Phu ward and Phu Thu ward, Cai Rang district, Can Tho station is located in Phu Thu ward with an area of about 60ha. The total investment of the project is about 205,085 billion VND.
