Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien delivered the opening speech at the forum.

In his opening speech, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien said that logistics is a service industry that is considered the "blood vessels" of the economy, playing an important role in connecting and supporting businesses and production facilities to reduce costs, reduce product prices, improve competitiveness, and promote socio-economic development. As a country located in a dynamically developing region of the world, where the flow of goods is concentrated and strongly exchanged and the economy has a large openness, with 17 free trade agreements signed and implemented with nearly 70 countries and territories, Vietnam is considered a market with great potential and conditions for the development of logistics services. "Our country's logistics service industry has developed rapidly, increasing by an average of 14-16% per year, gradually affirming its brand and position in the region and the world," Minister Dien acknowledged. However, in addition to the achieved results, the logistics service industry has not developed commensurate with the country's potential and advantages. High logistics costs, low competitiveness, and shortage of human resources are major bottlenecks that are hindering development.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated the organization of the Forum with a strong spirit of innovation.

At the plenary session, delegates focused on discussing the development of Vietnam's logistics, potential, strengths; mechanisms, policies, and orientations for logistics development. Many delegates made presentations proposing orientations for Vietnam's logistics development to reach out into the new era; proposing to promote the formation of free trade zones, international transit ports, building a fleet of container ships, a fleet of specialized cargo aircraft, promoting international cooperation... 3 goals, 7 breakthroughs in logistics development Speaking at the direction, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that in recent times, there have been many investments, upgrades, and breakthroughs in transport infrastructure, contributing to reducing costs, increasing the competitiveness of Vietnamese goods, and promoting the development of the logistics industry. However, it is necessary to have a more complete understanding of the logistics industry such as high costs; low scale compared to the economy and the world, limited management work... "The important formula is that we need to be creative to fly high, innovate to reach far, integrate and link to develop. All have important relationships to develop the logistics market, that is the world trend, a developed country must have logistics", the Prime Minister acknowledged. To remove the bottlenecks in the logistics industry, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh proposed 3 goals and 7 specific solutions, which are the goal of reducing logistics costs from 18% to 15%; increasing the scale of logistics in the country's GDP from 10% to 15%, striving for 20%. Increasing the scale of the logistics service industry in the total scale of the world from 0.4% to 0.5%, striving for 0.6%; growth rate from 14% to 15%, increasing to 20%.
