On the afternoon of the 28th of Tet, the Prime Minister extended New Year greetings and inspected the railway sector's on-duty service for passengers during the Lunar New Year; and the on-duty work for Tet, and readiness for medical examination and treatment at the Central Lung Hospital.
As the whole country prepares to celebrate the traditional Lunar New Year 2025, on the afternoon of January 27 (ie 28th of the Lunar New Year), Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh extended his New Year greetings and inspected the railway sector's work of serving passengers during the Lunar New Year; and the work of being on duty during Tet, ready to examine and treat patients at the Central Lung Hospital.
Continue public-private partnership to develop railway transport
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh inspected and visited ticket sales, passenger pick-up and drop-off activities and participated in folk cultural activities at Hanoi station; visited new products of Vietnam Railways Corporation that are being and will be put into operation during the Lunar New Year this year, including: newly upgraded and renovated carriages with seats that can rotate to create convenience and comfort for passengers; community carriages and luxury tourist trains are products of cooperation between the railway industry and tourism businesses.
In particular, the community train named "Spring Train" has a journey from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City and vice versa, designed specifically and uniquely with decorations associated with Tet and Vietnamese folk culture.
Passengers traveling on these carriages can experience activities throughout the journey: count down; participate in folk games; enjoy typical Tet dishes; at the same time, passengers have the opportunity to participate in a "mobile" painting and sculpture camp on the train with artists...
In particular, the Prime Minister visited and experienced the luxury tourist train, a product of cooperation between the railway industry and tourism businesses, considered a 5-star mobile hotel.
The train has an 8-day, 7-night cross-Vietnam journey from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City and vice versa. On the way, the train stops at 5 famous tourist attractions: Ninh Binh, Quang Binh, Da Nang, Quang Nam and Phan Thiet...
Reporting to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on the production and business situation and Tet service work, Mr. Dang Sy Manh, Chairman of the Board of Members of Vietnam Railways Corporation, said that 2024 is the third consecutive year of profitable railway transport business, with the number of passengers reaching over 7 million, up 14.8%; goods reaching over 5.1 million tons, up 11.2%; especially international intermodal transport increased by 36%...
To meet the travel needs of people during the 2025 Lunar New Year, the Corporation has organized the sale of train tickets for Tet earlier than every year, selling more than 430,000 tickets. The Corporation uses 54 fleets, regularly organizing 7 pairs of passenger trains running continuously between Hanoi and Saigon and 9 pairs of regional passenger trains during the 2025 Lunar New Year.
Visiting and presenting New Year's gifts to passengers and railway staff, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh commended all railway staff and workers for their many innovations and creativity in improving the quality of railway transport services in both passenger and freight transport, especially in upgrading and organizing high-quality train cars and trains; building the movement "Train - flower road", "Each route is a flower garden, each station is a destination."
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested Vietnam Railways Corporation to continue applying modern management methods; carry out digital transformation and green transformation in the railway industry; focus on building a foundation for developing the railway industry in a modern direction; proactively form joint ventures and partnerships to invest and transfer technology to develop the railway industry; promptly and effectively implement the Development Strategy, Production and Business Plan and Development Investment.
Emphasizing that the railway industry must urgently seize opportunities, continue to innovate thinking, improve operational efficiency, successfully apply digital transformation, be proactive, creative, boldly promote investment; proactively organize preparations in terms of human resources, technology, mechanics... to be ready to receive and put into operation and exploit the railway lines that will be built in the future, when assigned by the state, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested the railway industry to actively work with Vietnamese ministries, branches and Chinese partners to soon study and implement standard gauge railway projects connecting China to connect with Central Asia and Europe, increase transport capacity, and promote trade development with other countries.
Spreading the core values of the medical industry
Inspecting the work of being on duty during Tet, ready for medical examination and treatment at the Central Lung Hospital, reporting to the Prime Minister on the results of the activities, Dr. Dinh Van Luong, Director of the Hospital said that inheriting traditional values, receiving the attention of the Party, Government, Ministry of Health and with a united leadership team, the Hospital has achieved many results in medical examination, treatment and health care for the people.
In 2024, the Hospital successfully completed the annual plan with a total of nearly 103,000 medical examinations, 41,000 inpatients, and successfully performed nearly 5,000 surgeries.
In particular, the Hospital successfully performed 3 lung transplants, a difficult technique in organ transplantation, achieving a 100% success rate at the Hospital.
The process of diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer has been implemented equivalent to that of developed countries in the region and in the world.
The hospital has done a good job of supplying and fully providing medicines, medical supplies and equipment for examination and treatment; not allowing shortages of medicines and medical supplies to occur.
During the Lunar New Year, the Hospital arranges and organizes full staff, equipment and medical supplies to ensure that all people coming to and being treated at the Hospital are welcomed and cared for attentively.
In order to improve medical examination and treatment, the Hospital requests attention and investment in projects according to approved planning; investment in purchasing additional medical equipment to maximize the quality of medical examination and treatment, aiming to establish a regional lung transplant center...
Presenting gifts to patients; talking with staff and doctors of the Central Lung Hospital, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh praised the achievements that the Hospital has made in the past time, contributing to the overall achievements of the medical sector and the whole country; expressing his emotion at the fact that the Hospital has successfully performed 3 lung transplants with a success rate of 100%, with intelligence, responsibility, love for patients, with the same spirit as that of Dr. Pham Ngoc Thach.
Sharing his experiences in caring for people with lung diseases at the Central Lung Hospital, as well as in directing and operating in the prevention and control of the COVID-19 epidemic, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated the spirit and responsibility of the medical staff nationwide in general and the Central Lung Hospital in particular who have made efforts and devoted all their hearts and minds to the patients.
Witnessing the lack of systematic planning and implementation of planning at the Hospital, and limited investment in facilities and equipment, the Prime Minister said that this is the responsibility of the Government and the Ministry of Health. Therefore, the Prime Minister requested to immediately carry out planning work, exploit underground and overhead spaces; build a modern, green, clean, and beautiful Hospital; planning must have a strategic, long-term vision, but investment must be divided into phases based on actual requirements and conditions.
Requiring the Hospital to promote the transfer of organ transplant technology, specifically lung transplant, to perfect the technology, the Prime Minister directed the Hospital to be a pioneer and leader in the treatment of tuberculosis and lung diseases, especially lung transplant; upgrade medical equipment in a modern direction; at the same time, continue to focus on educating and training human resources with high professional qualifications, great responsibility and love for patients, truly people with "deep medical knowledge, rich medical ethics, good medical skills"; always unite, unify, the predecessors help the successors, the successors follow the example of the predecessors, all for the happiness and health of the people.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that the Government will strive to create the best conditions for the medical sector to develop, worthy of the country in the new era - the era of prosperity, civilization and people are increasingly prosperous and happy; hopes and believes that cadres, doctors and nurses in the medical sector in general and the Central Lung Hospital in particular will always promote their core values to shine, spread, and create trust in the whole society; the work results in 2025 will be higher than in 2024, in which the number of organ transplants will be doubled in 2024./.
