Vietnam wants to become a stronghold, an important link of Apple
At the meeting, Vice President of Global Government Relations and senior leaders of Apple, Mr. Nick Ammann informed about the situation of Apple and said that Vietnam is a very important market and production area and the two sides still have a lot of potential for cooperation; the remarkable growth in production scale and export value of Apple products in Vietnam in the context of difficulties and challenges in the past time affirms the Group's trust in the Vietnamese market; highly appreciated the support and facilitation of the Vietnamese Government, especially during the recent pandemic period.

Apple currently has a market capitalization of $2.86 trillion, revenue of $394.3 billion and about 164,000 employees. In Vietnam, Apple operates mainly through 32 factories of original equipment manufacturing partners.
“We are interested in Vietnam's clean energy strategy and promoting clean energy access for the Group's manufacturers in Vietnam,” said Mr. Nick Ammann.
Vice President Nick Ammann expressed his desire to participate in developing and training Vietnam's human resources, especially software development staff. He said that Vietnam already has a fairly strong workforce in the digital economy.
Congratulating and appreciating Apple's successes globally as well as in Vietnam in recent times, and acknowledging the Group's proposals, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh welcomed the Group to increase the use of clean energy and train human resources for Vietnam in the high-tech field.
The Prime Minister suggested that Apple continue to research, expand investment cooperation, and increase localization; at the same time, act as a bridge for US businesses and Apple's partners to increase investment in Vietnam; support Vietnamese businesses to improve production capacity to increase competitiveness and participate in the global supply chain; advise and research the establishment of a research and development (R&D) center at the National Innovation Center (NIC) to research and develop technology products; support and develop an innovation ecosystem, digital transformation as well as transfer of new technologies.
The Prime Minister hopes that Apple will turn Vietnam into a stronghold and an increasingly important link in the supply and production chain of Apple Corporation.
Boeing proposed to expand production and supply chain in Vietnam
Mr. Brendan Nelson AO, Senior Vice President of Boeing Global, in the meeting with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, expressed his appreciation for the Prime Minister's vision and viewpoint on the importance of aviation economy; discussed Boeing's strategy and cooperation commitments with Vietnam in the coming time so that more and more people can use aviation services; and wished for more and more suppliers for the group in Vietnam.

Boeing is a leading manufacturer of commercial jetliners, defense, aerospace, and security systems. Today, Boeing has more than 140,000 employees operating in 65 countries around the world and achieved revenue of more than $94.5 billion in 2020.
The Prime Minister highly appreciated Boeing's cooperation and support with Vietnam in the process of operating aircraft, being a reliable partner providing aircraft and aviation services to airlines over the years.
The Prime Minister suggested that Boeing expand its production and supply chain in Vietnam, soon build a large-scale aircraft equipment and machinery maintenance center, and support airlines in this regard; strengthen cooperation, support human resource training, technology transfer, and bring Vietnamese partners deeper into Boeing's supply chain.
The Prime Minister also asked Boeing to continue to closely coordinate with Vietnamese partners to complete and deliver aircraft purchase orders signed in the past and continue to support Vietnamese partners in selecting suitable aircraft at reasonable costs.
Vietnam thanks Google for supporting National Innovation Center
Receiving Mr. Karan Bhatia, Vice President of Government Relations and Public Policy of Google - the world's leading multinational technology corporation, with revenue of 282.8 billion USD in 2022, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated Google's support for the National Innovation Center of Vietnam, the production of smartphones and electronic products in Vietnam and its commitment to contribute to Vietnam's economic development, especially the development of a sustainable digital ecosystem.

Sharing about the business situation, vision and updating the status of Google's office establishment in Vietnam, Mr. Karan Bhatia highly appreciated the major orientations on cooperation in innovation, science and technology in the Vietnam-US joint statement on establishing a comprehensive strategic partnership; proposed cooperation and investment related to the field of cloud computing, cooperation and support for Vietnam in online teaching and learning.
Supporting Google to expand its investment and production in Vietnam, as well as cooperation proposals in line with Vietnam's development orientation, the Prime Minister said he would assign relevant agencies and enterprises to research, support, and cooperate so that the corporation can implement them in the spirit of harmonious benefits, shared risks, and ensuring the legitimate and legal rights and interests of the State, people, and enterprises.
The Prime Minister asked Google to continue supporting the National Innovation Center; cooperate to ensure information safety and security; enhance digital skills training, promote digital transformation support programs for Vietnamese enterprises; research and cooperate in training, technology transfer, and human resource development to meet Google's production and value chain in Vietnam.

At the meeting, the leaders of Siemens Healthineers Group expressed their desire to continue expanding their operations and sharing experiences in the healthcare sector in Vietnam; and hoped to receive more support from the Vietnamese Government to facilitate the legal and policy framework.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated the Group's proposal and plan to support Vietnam in the healthcare sector in general and healthcare infrastructure in particular, especially digital solutions in the healthcare sector.
The Prime Minister suggested that the Group research and soon deploy investment in the production of medical equipment with high technology and quality in Vietnam, at the same time strengthen cooperation and technology transfer to Vietnamese partners to participate more deeply in the Group's production and supply chain; participate in human resource training in various forms; pay more attention to social security activities, especially in remote areas.
Also this afternoon, the Prime Minister witnessed the exchange of cooperation documents between Vietnamese and US agencies, localities and businesses. Accordingly, the People's Committee of Hai Phong city and enterprises of the two countries signed cooperation agreements on research and development of Trung Lap, Vinh Bao, Hai Phong industrial parks, Nam Do Son general port and implementation of high-tech projects, supporting Hai Phong in building a green growth strategy; the State Capital Investment Corporation and partners signed cooperation agreements on development and attracting investment in the biopharmaceutical industry... Also during the Prime Minister's working visit, Vietnam's Golden Gate Group and the US Cargill Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a Strategic Import Partnership (Type 1), allowing a significant increase in the amount of beef imported from Cargill from 16 million USD in 2022. |
