Vietjet Air received a certificate of merit from the Prime Minister for its timely coordination and successful organization of two special flights, transporting the working delegation of the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of National Defense along with more than 60 tons of relief goods to Yangon, Myanmar. This is a recognition of Vietjet's practical and meaningful contributions, contributing to the overall success of the Vietnamese relief delegation, while demonstrating the spirit of humanity, international responsibility and enhancing the country's image in global humanitarian activities.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, leaders of the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of National Defense met and commended the Vietnamese rescue team returning from Myanmar after successfully completing the task of supporting the recovery of the serious earthquake that occurred on March 28. The Prime Minister highly appreciated Vietjet for being a pioneer, promptly coordinating support, demonstrating a spirit of solidarity and high responsibility, not discussing much, proposing to do it immediately, without hesitation.

In less than 24 hours after receiving the mission, Vietjet quickly completed all technical and logistical work and requested flight permits to deploy two flights numbered VJ2875 and VJ2877, using modern wide-body aircraft A330 and A321. The two flights departed from Noi Bai Airport, Hanoi on the afternoon of March 30, carrying 106 officers and soldiers of the armed forces, service dogs and more than 60 tons of relief goods including medical equipment, food, etc. to Myanmar.

At Yangon airport, immediately after landing, rescue forces and Vietjet team quickly unloaded and transported goods to the most affected areas. Police and military soldiers immediately deployed search and rescue, provided medical care and assisted people in overcoming the consequences of the disaster.

The 7.7 magnitude earthquake that struck Myanmar on March 28th caused serious damage: more than 1,600 people were killed, nearly 3,500 were injured and hundreds were missing. Many infrastructures were destroyed, while the effects of the earthquake also spread to Thailand and Vietnam.

Vietjet is an airline with extensive experience in organizing humanitarian and emergency flights, having participated in transporting relief forces and goods to many disaster-stricken areas such as the earthquake and tsunami in Indonesia in 2018, super typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines in 2013, etc. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Vietjet also operated a series of special flights carrying medical teams, functional forces and medical equipment to many epidemic areas. These activities not only demonstrate the spirit of mutual love but are also part of the corporate culture towards the community that Vietjet always preserves and promotes.
