Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attends the opening ceremony of CAEXPO and CABIS 2023

On the morning of September 17, at the Nanning Exhibition Center, the capital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China, the opening ceremony of the China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) and the China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit (CABIS) 2023 took place.

Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh led the Vietnamese delegation to attend this event.

The 20th CAEXPO and its activities will take place from September 16 to 19. This is part of a series of events celebrating the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the China-ASEAN strategic partnership.

After 3 years of being held online due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic as well as the epidemic prevention measures of the Chinese Government and ASEAN countries, CAEXPO 2023 will be held on a scale of 122,000m2 (including 2,800 indoor booths and 10,000m2 outdoor booths).

CAEXPO 2023 consists of 6 main areas: Exhibition area of ​​products of ASEAN countries and China; Exhibition area of ​​typical cities of ASEAN countries and China; Exhibition area of ​​Investment Cooperation; Exhibition area of ​​Agricultural Cooperation; Exhibition area of ​​New Technology; Exhibition area of ​​Trade Services.

The Vietnamese business delegation participating in CAEXPO this year has the largest scale in ASEAN with 250 booths on an area of ​​5,000 m2, including a variety of quality goods and services, well meeting the needs and tastes of the Chinese market and ASEAN partners.

CAEXPO is an annual fair held since 2004 at the initiative of China and received positive response from ASEAN member countries.

Over the years, the fair has become a major platform for multilateral economic and trade cooperation between ASEAN and China, gathering a large number of businesses and investors.

At this fair, the CAEXPO Organizing Committee has implemented many contents to upgrade the fair to a more comprehensive version. In addition to displaying goods, there are also more than 100 trade and investment promotion events, conferences and seminars of ASEAN member countries and other countries.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the China-ASEAN Strategic Partnership and the 20th anniversary of CAEXPO. Therefore, CAEXPO 2023 is being prepared more elaborately with the “Four Comprehensive Upgrades,” including Comprehensive Upgrade of the High-Level Dialogue Mechanism; Further Expanding the Scale and Enriching Investment Promotion Activities to Comprehensively Upgrade the ASEAN-China Economic and Trade Efficiency; Comprehensive Upgrade of the “Nanning Canal”; Comprehensive Upgrade of the Unlimited Cooperation Platform.

This fair marks a particularly important milestone, which is the 20-year journey of formation and development of CAEXPO and CABIS, demonstrating an effective cooperation model between ASEAN and China, bringing practical benefits to businesses and people of ASEAN and China. This is also the first fair to be held directly after the Covid-19 pandemic.

The 20th CAEXPO takes place in the context of ASEAN and China continuing to upgrade their cooperative relations, marking the 20th anniversary of the strategic partnership between China and ASEAN.

Over the past 20 years, CAEXPO has become a major multilateral economic and trade cooperation platform between ASEAN and China, gathering a large number of Chinese and ASEAN businessmen and investors, creating extremely favorable conditions for businesses from both sides to directly learn about market trends, exchange, promote business and promote cooperation in many fields.
