Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has just directed Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai to convene a meeting with relevant ministries and agencies, based on legal regulations, to review and verify information about the Vietnam Feature Film Studio Headquarters (No. 4 Thuy Khue, Hanoi) being deserted and dilapidated.
At the same time, find solutions suitable to the new situation, and have a plan to handle existing problems before March 23, 2023.

Previously, many artists spoke out about the many shortcomings and violations in the equitization of Vietnam Feature Film Studio, which has caused the studio to be clinically dead. Located on the prime land at 4 Thuy Khue, Tay Ho District, Hanoi, with a usable area of nearly 5,500 m2, the studio's headquarters is now only used for parking.
For more than 60 years, the company has not had the right to use this land, but only rented it.
After 6 years of equitization, the new owner of the Company has no activities on the land where classic movies were made. The Company's facilities have been seriously degraded over the years.
Director of the Department of Cinema Vi Kien Thanh shared that he was very saddened by what happened and hoped that the Government and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism would resolve this incident once and for all.
Vietnam Feature Film Studio was officially established with the first feature film "Chung mot dong song" produced in 1959. Address number 4 Thuy Khue has been associated with many generations of famous artists such as Tra Giang, The Anh, Minh Chau, Nhu Quynh, Lan Huong, Le Van, Phuong Thanh...
The last film the Company produced was "Yen's Life" (2015). Since the time of equitization, the Company has not produced any more films.
The equitization process of Vietnam Feature Film Studio (VFS) was carried out in 2014, expected to be completed in 2015, but it took until 2016 to find a strategic shareholder, Vivaso Waterway Transport Corporation.
With 32.5 billion VND, Vivaso has won 65% of the total enterprise value and become a strategic shareholder. Vivaso completed the acquisition of VFS in June 2017.
However, after only 2 months of officially becoming the new owner of VFS, Vivaso has faced fierce reactions from artists when it introduced regulations such as not paying salaries to those who do not come to work, reorganizing departments, closing the main entrance and encouraging artists to work part-time in other jobs to earn more income...
Many famous artists have signed a petition to the Vietnam Cinema Association regarding the management of Vivaso's leadership.
In September 2018, the Government Inspectorate announced the conclusion of the inspection of the film studio's equitization, but to date, the shortcomings in the inspection process have not been completely resolved, causing artists to be upset for many years.
