To promptly encourage and support ethnic minority communities in preparing for a joyful and warm Lunar New Year celebration in 2025, on January 21, 2025, Deputy Minister and Vice Chairman Nong Thi Ha led a delegation from the Committee for Ethnic Minorities Affairs (CEMA) to visit and extend New Year greetings to collectives with achievements and contributions to ethnic affairs, influential figures, and ethnic minority communities in Bac Quang and Vi Xuyen districts of Ha Giang province. From January 20-22, 2025, the Gia Lai Provincial Ethnic Affairs Committee organized meetings and presented Lunar New Year gifts to influential figures among ethnic minority communities in many districts, towns, and cities throughout the province. Regarding the socio -economic development situation of the locality, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Bac Quang District Party Committee, Luong Tien Dung, stated that the district comprises 23 communes and towns, with a total population of over 125,000 people, belonging to 19 ethnic groups. Ethnic minorities account for 74% of the total population of the district.

Currently, the locality still has 5 communes in Zone III; 4 communes in Zone II and 14 communes in Zone I, with 236 villages and residential areas, including 45 particularly disadvantaged villages; the level of education and awareness of the people is uneven, which has significantly affected the implementation of socio-economic development tasks of the entire district.
