In Bac Quang district, the delegation presented 120 Tet gifts to poor ethnic minority families, respected community leaders, and also gave gifts to the collectives of Tan Thanh, Dong Tien, and Thuong Binh communes.
Regarding the socio -economic development situation of the locality, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Bac Quang District Party Committee, Luong Tien Dung, stated that the district comprises 23 communes and towns, with a total population of over 125,000 people, belonging to 19 ethnic groups. Ethnic minorities account for 74% of the total population of the district.
Currently, the locality still has 5 communes in Zone III; 4 communes in Zone II and 14 communes in Zone I, with 236 villages and residential areas, including 45 particularly disadvantaged villages; the level of education and awareness of the people is uneven, which has significantly affected the implementation of socio-economic development tasks of the entire district.
Receiving the gifts from the delegation together with the local people, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Bac Quang District Party Committee, Luong Tien Dung, expressed: “The gifts that the delegation has presented to poor ethnic minority families, respected individuals, and the collectives of Tan Thanh, Dong Tien, and Thuong Binh communes today are a great encouragement and motivation for the people, as well as the local government. In the coming time, the officials and people of Bac Quang district will continue to make the utmost effort to effectively implement ethnic affairs and ethnic policies; and at the same time pay more attention to caring for and ensuring social security for the people in the area.”
In Vi Xuyen district, the delegation also presented 120 Tet gifts to poor ethnic minority households and respected community leaders, and gave gifts to the collectives of Xin Chai, Ngoc Linh, and Thuan Hoa communes.
Sharing in the difficulties and hardships of the people and local authorities in Vi Xuyen district, Deputy Minister and Vice Chairman Nong Thi Ha kindly encouraged and extended her best New Year wishes to influential figures, ethnic minority households, and local Party committees and authorities.
Deputy Minister and Vice Chairman Nong Thi Ha expressed her hope that in the coming time, local Party committees, authorities, and influential figures will continue to strive and play a pioneering and exemplary role in propagating and mobilizing the people to build national unity; and effectively implement the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's laws. She also hoped that poor ethnic minority households would continue to strive to overcome difficulties, develop their economy, and improve their living standards.
During the working trip, Deputy Minister and Vice Chairman Nong Thi Ha and the delegation from the Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs also visited, presented gifts, and extended New Year greetings to Major General Nguyen Binh Van - former Director of the Ha Giang Provincial Police and Major General Hoang Van Toai - former Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of Military Region 2.
