Appreciating the sustainable and increasingly deep development relationship between Vietnam and Finland, Deputy Minister Phan Thi Thang emphasized that Vietnam is pleased to witness that investment and trade cooperation activities between the two countries have restored growth momentum after a decline in 2023. (In 2023, bilateral trade decreased by 17.2%, reaching 566.4 million USD; in the first 9 months of 2024, bilateral trade reached 341.8 million USD, an increase of 12.3%)
In particular, thanks to the EVFTA (Vietnam - EU Free Trade Agreement), more and more Vietnamese products are available in supermarket chains in Europe, as well as Finland. However, the scale of two-way trade between Vietnam and Finland is still relatively small, accounting for only 0.5% of Vietnam's trade with European countries.
