On the morning of October 29, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Thi Kim Chi attended the opening ceremony of the new school year, awarded the Emulation Flag and decisions on personnel work of the Ministry of Education and Training to T78 Friendship School.
Also attending were Deputy Ambassador of Laos to Vietnam Lattana Sihalat; representatives of a number of central departments, agencies and leaders of units under the Ministry of Education and Training.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Kim Chi presented the Emulation Flag of the Ministry of Education and Training to the leaders of T78 Friendship School.
T78 Friendship School was established on January 1, 1958. It was the first school for Lao students established in Vietnam and also the school that trained the largest number of Lao students.
Over 66 years of establishment and development, T78 Friendship School has welcomed and trained over 27 thousand students from Laos and tens of thousands of ethnic students from mountainous regions of Vietnam. This is a quality human resource, making an important contribution to the cause of building and protecting the country and fostering the special relationship between the two countries, while also contributing to firmly consolidating the great solidarity bloc of Vietnamese ethnic groups.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Kim Chi congratulated T78 Friendship School on receiving the Emulation Flag of the Ministry of Education and Training for its outstanding achievements in the emulation movement "Innovation and creativity in management, teaching and learning".

The Deputy Minister believes that in the coming time, with a strong and enthusiastic leadership team, T78 Friendship School will continue to uphold the spirit of solidarity, proactive creativity, and well perform the tasks of the Party, the State, and the Ministry of Education and Training to build the school to continue to develop worthy of the trust of the people of Vietnam and Laos.
"The Ministry of Education and Training will continue to care, support, and create favorable conditions for the school to further promote its achievements," the Deputy Minister shared.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Kim Chi also asked teachers and students of T78 Friendship School to continue promoting their achievements, implementing the General Secretary and President's instructions in the letter sent to the education sector on the occasion of the opening of the new school year and the key tasks of the sector in the 2024-2025 school year. At the same time, thoroughly grasp the Party and State's guidelines and policies on education and training.

Well performing the tasks of educating, managing, caring for and nurturing ethnic boarding students; the task of fostering Vietnamese language preparatory training for Lao students; educating students and overseas students to preserve and foster the special solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and Laos, loyal and pure.
Principal of T78 Friendship School Le Phu Thang said: In the 2023-2024 school year, the teachers and students of the school have strived to complete the school year's tasks with encouraging results. The general education results with 92% classified as good and excellent, an increase of 7.87% compared to the 2022-2023 school year; 32 students were recognized as outstanding ethnic minority students of the capital in the 2023-2024 school year. The high school graduation rate reached 100%. Many students were admitted to universities with high scores.
Regarding the results of Vietnamese preparatory training, the rate of excellent academic performance reached 21%; good reached 27.3%; 6 international students achieved the title of excellent student, 26 students achieved the title of good student. The final exam results showed that 100% of international students achieved Vietnamese level 4 according to the Vietnamese Language Proficiency Framework for Foreigners, qualified to continue studying at universities and academies in Vietnam.

Principal of T78 Friendship School Le Phu Thang delivered a speech at the opening ceremony of the new school year.
This year, the school is pleased to welcome 456 new K30 high school students and more than 200 Laotian international students to study at the school.
According to Principal Le Phu Thang, the 2024-2025 school year marks the implementation of the 2018 General Education Program at all grade levels; it is the first school year to organize the High School Graduation Exam according to the 2018 General Education Program. The school is determined to carry out a number of key tasks.
