On behalf of the leaders of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Minister Do Hung Viet presented flowers and best wishes to Chargé d'Affaires of the Lao Embassy in Vietnam Chanthaphone, along with all staff and family.

On this occasion, the Deputy Minister congratulated the Lao government and people on the important achievements in implementing the Resolution of the 11th National Congress of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and the 9th Five-Year Socio-Economic Development Plan for the 2021-2025 period.

The Deputy Minister believes that under the wise and correct leadership of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, the Lao people will overcome all difficulties, continue to build Laos to become more and more prosperous and have an increasingly high position and role in the international arena.

The Deputy Minister said that Vietnam is very pleased with the cooperation results in 2022, a year of special significance for Vietnam and Laos when a series of solemn activities were held to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations (September 5, 1962 - September 5, 2022) and the 45th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation (July 18, 1977 - July 18, 2022). The two countries maintain and effectively promote the most important bilateral cooperation mechanisms, including the annual meeting of the two Politburoes in December 2022; as well as the 45th meeting of the Intergovernmental Committee in Vientiane in January 2023 on the occasion of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's official visit to Laos.

The Deputy Minister highly appreciated the active coordination and support of the Chargé d'Affaires and the Lao Embassy in Hanoi in the past time, and hoped to continue to receive support and closer coordination from the Lao Embassy in the coming time.

The Deputy Minister hoped that the two Ministries of Foreign Affairs would continue to effectively implement the agreements of the two countries' senior leaders and the Cooperation Agreement between the two Ministries of Foreign Affairs for the 2021-2025 period, along with the results achieved at the 9th Annual Consultation between the two Foreign Ministers in Vientiane in April 2022.

Chargé d'Affaires Chanthaphone, on behalf of the Ambassador and staff of the Lao Embassy, ​​thanked Deputy Minister Do Hung Viet and the staff of the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs for coming to wish the Embassy a Happy New Year.

At the same time, Chargé d'Affaires Chanthaphone affirmed that the Lao Embassy will continue to closely coordinate with the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs in monitoring and promoting the effective implementation of cooperation agreements between the two countries' senior leaders.
