DNVN - Deputy Minister of Health Do Xuan Tuyen requested localities to continue to perfect institutions and thoroughly decentralize the procurement and bidding of drugs and medical equipment to meet the needs of medical examination and treatment nationwide.
On November 7, Deputy Minister of Health Do Xuan Tuyen chaired an important meeting with representatives of central hospitals, provincial and municipal health departments, and general hospitals across the country on bidding and purchasing of drugs and medical equipment for medical examination and treatment.
The report at the conference showed that medical examination and treatment facilities nationwide have basically met the demand for drugs and medical equipment to serve the people. On September 30, 2024, the Ministry of Health issued Document No. 5882/BYT-KHTC, requesting health departments and health departments of ministries and branches to report on the shortage of drugs and medical equipment as well as difficulties in the bidding process. Up to now, the Ministry has received reports from 46 localities, in which localities and units reported that the situation of drugs and medical equipment on-site is basically guaranteed.

Mr. Tuyen directed localities and units to make more efforts to complete bidding work, paying special attention to units that are still slow in reporting.
"It is necessary to study and implement institutional guidelines on bidding and procurement to apply in the implementation process to ensure compliance with regulations. Localities need to continue to make efforts in bidding and purchasing medicine and medical equipment to best serve the people," said Mr. Tuyen.
The Deputy Minister emphasized that units need to strengthen supervision and closely coordinate with management agencies to promptly handle arising issues, avoid shortages of drugs and medical equipment, affecting the medical examination and treatment process. The Ministry of Health will continue to accompany, guide and support localities and units in this work, to ensure that the health system is always ready to serve the people with the best quality.
