Deputy Minister of Defense of Lao PDR works in Ha Tinh

This morning, a working delegation of the Ministry of National Defense of the Lao People's Democratic Republic led by Senior Lieutenant General Vong Kham - Phom Ma Kon, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of National Defense of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, had a working session with the Command of Military Region 4 and Ha Tinh province on preparations for the inauguration ceremony of Wharf No. 3, Lao - Vietnam International Port in Vung Ang Economic Zone, Ky Anh town.

Attending the meeting were Major General Nguyen Ngoc Ha - Deputy Commander of Military Region 4; Comrade Tran Bao Ha - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of relevant departments, branches and sectors of Ha Tinh province.

Overview of the working session

Terminal No. 3, Lao-Viet International Port, invested by Lao-Viet International Port Joint Stock Company, is allowed to exploit, operate commercial business, receive Vietnamese and foreign ships entering and leaving, anchoring, loading and unloading goods and performing other related maritime services. Up to now, under the close direction of the Government and the Ministry of National Defense of the two countries; the efforts of the investor, relevant departments, branches, sectors and localities, especially the close coordination between the two sides, the preparation for the inauguration ceremony of Terminal No. 3, Lao-Viet International Port has been basically completed.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Tran Bao Ha - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee affirmed that Wharf No. 3, Lao - Viet International Port under the Joint Operation Project of Vung Ang Port in Ha Tinh province is an important project in implementing bilateral cooperation between Vietnam and Laos, with special significance in terms of politics, economy, national defense - security, and was assigned by the Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam to Ha Tinh province to preside over the implementation.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Lao-Viet International Port Joint Stock Company, relevant local departments and branches, together with representatives of the two countries' Ministries of Defense, to continue to carefully review the contents of the inauguration ceremony, ensuring solemnity, thoughtfulness, safety and economy, while conveying and spreading the message of solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and Laos. Regarding the upcoming tasks, Ha Tinh will closely coordinate with the Vietnamese Ministry of Defense, central ministries and branches and the Lao side to enhance the effective exploitation of Wharf No. 3, Lao-Viet International Port.

At the meeting, Senior Lieutenant General Vong Kham - Phom Ma Kon, Deputy Minister of National Defense of the Lao People's Democratic Republic affirmed that the inauguration ceremony of Terminal No. 3, Laos - Vietnam International Port is an important foreign political event for the special relationship between Vietnam and Laos.

Particularly for Ha Tinh, over the past many years, it has established a close friendship and comprehensive cooperation in many fields with the provinces of Laos and has achieved many positive results, contributing to enhancing the Vietnam - Laos friendship.

Senior Lieutenant General Vong Kham - Phom Ma Kon gave his opinion on the overall program of the Opening Ceremony and wished that the plans, contents and programs must be carefully prepared, and each part of the work must be specifically reviewed. The art program in particular must show both the heroism and excitement, and the cultural identity, tradition of solidarity and friendly relationship between Vietnam and Laos.
