Non-stop toll collection at Noi Bai and Tan Son Nhat airports from February 6.
Up to now, the technical solution for equipment installation has been basically completed, ready to deploy the pilot toll collection.
The equipment is installed in combination with the Tap & Go method based on the same technology as the expressway toll stations. The system also has ticket checking software, central toll collection, administration, virtual server, firewall, post-audit monitoring software to ensure the airport non-stop toll collection system operates smoothly.
Leaders of the Ministry of Transport assessed that the pilot non-stop toll collection at airports will ensure social benefits, increase convenience, create convenience for service users, and contribute to relieving congestion at airport gateways, especially during the peak Lunar New Year holiday.
ACV is collecting service fees for vehicles picking up and dropping off passengers at two airport groups. For Tan Son Nhat, Noi Bai, and Da Nang airports, vehicles entering and leaving within 10 minutes will be charged VND10,000/trip for vehicles with less than 9 seats, VND15,000/trip for vehicles with 10-30 seats, and VND25,000/trip for vehicles with 30 seats or more.
Other airports charge a fee of VND5,000/trip for cars with less than 9 seats, VND10,000/trip for cars with 10-16 seats, VND15,000/trip for cars with 16-29 seats, and VND25,000/trip for cars with 30 seats or more. Cars entering the airport for more than 10 minutes will be charged an additional parking service fee.
Currently, nearly 5 million cars nationwide (96%) have been tagged and have opened ETC accounts. The Ministry of Transport plans to apply ETC fees for many new services such as seaport fees, parking fees, insurance, and registration.
