Today (October 17), information from the Central Executive Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union said that this unit has just decided to withdraw the decision to award a certificate of merit to Mr. Van Dinh Luong (31 years old, teacher in charge of the team of Vo Truong Toan Secondary School, Di An City, Binh Duong Province.

Previously, on October 10, the Central Executive Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union decided to award certificates of merit from the Central Executive Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union to 4 collectives and 14 individuals with "outstanding achievements in the work of the Young Pioneers and children's movement in the 2023-2024 school year".

In the list of awardees, there is Mr. Van Dinh Luong - teacher in charge of the team of Vo Truong Toan Secondary School.

However, after this decision, Mr. Luong was accused of sexually abusing a female student at the school. Through investigation, the Investigation Police Agency of Di An City Police prosecuted him for "sexually abusing a person under 16 years old".

By the time the investigation agency initiated the prosecution, the certificate of merit from the Central Executive Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union had not yet been transferred to Binh Duong province to present to Mr. Luong.

As reported, on October 17, the Investigation Police Agency of Di An City Police, Binh Duong Province initiated a case and prosecuted Mr. Van Dinh Luong (31 years old, teacher at Vo Truong Toan Secondary School) to investigate the act of "indecent acts with people under 16 years old".

Mr. Luong was found to have touched the female student's waist, chest, abdomen and sensitive areas to satisfy his personal desires, causing public outrage.
