Recalling 12 types of fake milk nationwide

(PLVN) - The Department of Food Safety, Ministry of Health, has just issued an official dispatch requesting the Department of Health of provinces and cities; the Department of Food Safety of Ho Chi Minh City; the Food Safety Management Board of Da Nang City; and the Food Safety and Hygiene Sub-Departments of localities to inspect and coordinate with local competent authorities to recall all 12 food and nutritional products (in the form of powdered milk) that are counterfeit on the market.

The Food Safety Department said it had received a dispatch from the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency requesting coordination in the fight against crime and detection of illegal acts, in which 12 food and nutritional products (in the form of powdered milk) were identified as counterfeit goods in violation of the provisions of Point b, Clause 7, Article 3 of Decree 98/2020/ND-CP dated August 26, 2020 of the Government.

The Food Safety Department issued Official Dispatch No. 832/ATTP-PCTTR dated April 23, 2025 requesting the Department of Health of provinces and centrally run cities; the Department of Food Safety of Ho Chi Minh City; the Food Safety Management Board of Da Nang City; the Food Safety and Hygiene Sub-Departments of provinces and cities to review, inspect and coordinate with local competent authorities to recall all 12 food and nutrition products (in the form of powdered milk) that are counterfeit goods currently on the market; coordinate with the Investigation Police Agency of the Ministry of Public Security to handle and resolve according to the provisions of law.

The Department also recommends that people should not use 72 milk products under further investigation from Rance Pharma International Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company and Hacofood Nutrition Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company until the final conclusion of the Police Agency.

At the same time, the Food Safety Department requests the above units to continue to strictly implement the instructions in: Official Dispatch No. 2021/BYT-ATTP dated April 8, 2025 of the Ministry of Health on strengthening inspection, examination and handling of violations of food safety and Official Dispatch No. 790/ATTP-SP dated April 19, 2025 of the Food Safety Department on strengthening inspection and post-inspection of fake and poor quality food.
