To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory, the Ho Chi Minh Museum in collaboration with the Vietnam Military History Museum opened the exhibition “Dien Bien Phu Victory - The Immortal Epic”. The opening ceremony took place on the afternoon of April 26. |

Mr. Vu Manh Ha - Director of Ho Chi Minh Museum - affirmed that the Dien Bien Phu victory is one of the brilliant milestones, recorded in the history of the Vietnamese people's resistance against foreign invaders. This victory is likened to the Bach Dang, Chi Lang, Dong Da victories in the Ho Chi Minh era and is also a common victory of oppressed peoples around the world. |
"This exhibition introduces to the public the strong impressions of the Dien Bien Phu victory that resounded throughout the five continents and shook the world of the Vietnamese people. Through the exhibition, the public can see the remarkable growth of the Vietnam People's Army," said Mr. Vu Manh Ha. |
With more than 300 images, documents, and artifacts, the public can see important historical milestones and evidence, extremely vividly, about the decisive strategic battle that created the nation's "famous in five continents, shaking the world" victory. |
The exhibition consists of 3 parts: Road to Dien Bien Phu , Dien Bien Phu - The Decisive Strategic Battle and Dien Bien Spirit, which further clarify the significance, stature and great historical value of the Dien Bien Phu victory. The special images and artifacts remind us of the patriotic tradition, revolutionary heroism and the determination to win of the Dien Bien Phu campaign in the cause of building and firmly defending the Fatherland. |

The documents and artifacts especially depict clearly the history of the establishment and development of the Vietnam People's Army. From 34 soldiers with rudimentary weapons on the day of establishment on December 22, 1944, under the leadership of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh, our army has continuously grown stronger, the more it fights, the more it matures. These are the foundations for our nation to continue writing the brilliant heroic epic in the resistance war against the US to save the country, establishing glorious feats. |
The artifacts on display this time are all directly related to historical events that contributed to the glorious Dien Bien Phu victory. |
The exhibition is on display at the Ho Chi Minh Museum from April 26 to October. |
