Collecting 100kg of fishing gear stuck in coral in Hon Chong sea area

The participants divided into small groups to row sup boats and dive into the sea to remove pieces of fishing nets stuck to corals. The nets and some fishing gear stuck in the coral ecosystem in the Hon Chong sea area mostly drifted from fishing and aquaculture areas in Nha Trang Bay. When caught in fishing nets, the coral ecosystem here cannot develop and gradually dies.

Fishing nets caught on coral reefs are brought up.

After many hours of active work, the members collected 100kg of fishing gear (mainly fishing nets), along with some other types of waste.

Collected fishing gear is gathered ashore for processing.
