Technical opening of Bung - Van Ninh expressway

This morning, April 19, the Ministry of Construction chaired and coordinated with the People's Committee of Quang Binh province to officially organize the technical opening and put into operation the main route of the Bung - Van Ninh section of the North - South Expressway Construction Project, Eastern phase 2021 - 2025.

The open route is about 48.84km long, passing through Quang Binh province. There are 4 interchanges: Cu Nam interchange (distance approximately Km626+690.35), Viet Trung (distance approximately Km643+480), Nhat Le 2 (distance approximately Km653+850), QL9B (distance approximately Km673+750).

The project starts at Km625+00, in Cu Nam commune, Bo Trach district, Quang Binh province, and ends at the Van Ninh - Cam Lo component project.

The project has a total investment of VND 9,361.15 billion from the state budget. The investor is Project Management Board 6 (Ministry of Construction). The Bung-Van Ninh expressway project is designed according to expressway standards, with a speed of 100 km/h, and the design phase with a speed of 90 km/h.

The project started in January 2023 and has basically completed the main route. The contractor is a consortium of Cienco4 Group Joint Stock Company - Corporation 36 - Joint Stock Company - Truong Son Construction Investment Joint Stock Company - Joint Stock Company 471 - Trung Chinh Trading and Construction Limited Liability Company - Truong Son Construction Investment Joint Stock Company.

The project has a total investment of more than 9,300 billion VND.

Cienco4 Group Joint Stock Company is a unit in the consortium of contractors constructing the project.

After the technical opening ceremony, the project was put into operation with about 47/48.84km of the main route and 04/04 intersections, including: Cu Nam intersection (distance about Km626+690.35), Viet Trung (distance about Km643+480), Nhat Le 2 (distance about Km653+850), QL9B (distance about Km673+750).

The Bung - Van Ninh expressway project was technically opened to traffic and put into use on the main route on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), making the project even more meaningful.

After the technical opening, many other items of the project will continue to be completed to officially complete the project in the near future. The completion and operation of the project will overcome traffic congestion and reduce traffic accidents on National Highway 1A; at the same time, meet the needs of travel, transportation, tourism, cultural and social exchange, in order to contribute to promoting economic development, stimulating tourism potential in the area where the highway passes through.
