Recently, leaker Evan Blass revealed some information about the size of the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition. Accordingly, the device has a 6.5-inch outer screen and an 8-inch folding screen. When measured horizontally, the phone measures 10.6mm when folded and 4.9mm when opened.
According to information revealed by Ice Universe, the Z Fold6 Slim will be Samsung's thinnest foldable smartphone and the company is considering using titanium for the back of the Galaxy Z Fold6 Slim. The back is an important foldable part because it supports the foldable screen and hinge. Currently, Samsung uses carbon fiber reinforced plastic for this part on all Z Fold models.
With the new Z Fold6 Slim, switching to a titanium back could make the device lighter and easier to carry, and the device will not support the SPen stylus, and will be 11mm thick when folded. If the information revealed by leaker Evan Blass is correct, the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition will be Samsung's thinnest foldable smartphone.
The product is expected to launch in the fourth quarter of 2024.
