VHO - The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has just issued Document No. 4769/BVHTTDL-DSVH to the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province on the unification of the dossier of Special National Monument for the Phuoc Tich ancient village relic, Phong Hoa commune, Phong Dien district.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has received a report from the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province requesting the Prime Minister to consider and rank the Phuoc Tich ancient village as a special national relic.
After researching and consulting with scientists of the National Cultural Heritage Council (term 2020 - 2024), the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism agreed with the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province on preparing a dossier on the Phuoc Tich ancient village relic to submit to the Prime Minister for consideration and ranking as a special national relic.
Based on the composition and format of the dossier as prescribed in Circular No. 09/2011/TT-BVHTTDL dated July 14, 2011 of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism regulating the content of scientific dossiers for ranking historical - cultural relics and scenic spots and Circular No. 18/2022/TT-BVHTTDL dated December 28, 2022 of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on amending and supplementing a number of articles of Circular No. 09/2011/TT-BVHTTDL.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism requested the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province to direct relevant agencies to prepare a dossier on the relic and send it to the Ministry through the Department of Cultural Heritage.
Phuoc Tich ancient village has been recognized as a national relic since 2009, with beautiful landscape and rare architectural art of a traditional village. According to historical records, Phuoc Tich village was established in 1470, under the reign of King Le Thanh Tong.
Phuoc Tich is located along the O Lau River, bordering Quang Tri, and about 40km from the center of Hue City. The entire village has an area of about 40 hectares, with about 140 households living. Here, many traditional architectural works hundreds of years old, with unique historical and artistic values are preserved and become tourist destinations for many tourists. Among them, we can mention: the village communal house, Phuoc Buu Pagoda, Cay Thi Temple, Quang Te Temple, Ong Cop Temple, Doi Temple... and dozens of ancient houses.
