Agree to propose recognizing 8 communes meeting the standards of new rural communes, advanced new rural communes and model new rural communes in the first phase of 2024

(binhdinh.gov.vn) - On the afternoon of April 18, the Appraisal Council for considering and proposing recognition of communes meeting new rural standards (NTM), communes meeting advanced NTM standards, and communes meeting model NTM standards in Binh Dinh province, period 2021-2025, held a meeting to consider and propose recognition of communes meeting NTM, advanced NTM, and model NTM standards in the first phase of 2024 for 8 localities. Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tuan Thanh - Chairman of the Provincial Appraisal Council chaired the meeting.

At the meeting, members of the Provincial Appraisal Council listened to reports on the results of building new rural areas, advanced new rural areas and model new rural areas of the 8 localities considered and proposed this time. According to the Appraisal Council's assessment, the localities have made efforts to meet the criteria according to regulations on building new rural communes, advanced new rural communes and model new rural communes. Although there are still some shortcomings, the localities have explained and committed to overcome them in the coming time.

After discussion, the members of the Provincial Appraisal Council conducted an evaluation vote. As a result, 17/17 members of the Council unanimously proposed to recognize 02 communes, An Hao Tay (Hoai An district) and Vinh Hao (Vinh Thanh district) meeting the NTM standards; recognize 04 communes, My Trinh (Phu My district), Phuoc Hiep and Phuoc Loc (Tuy Phuoc district), Cat Tai (Phu Cat district) meeting the advanced NTM standards; recognize 02 communes, Cat Minh (Phu Cat district) and Phuoc Hung (Tuy Phuoc district) meeting the model NTM standards in 2024.

Speaking at the meeting, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tuan Thanh highly appreciated the efforts of localities in implementing the construction of new rural communes, advanced new rural communes and model new rural communes in recent times.

Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tuan Thanh requested localities to urgently overcome the shortcomings and limitations pointed out by the Provincial New Rural Area Appraisal Team in implementing the Environmental criteria, the Living Environment Quality criteria, and the National Defense and Security criteria.

Emphasizing the importance of the National Target Program on New Rural Development in improving the quality of life for farmers and rural people, bringing sustainable values to rural areas in the new period, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tuan Thanh requested localities to continue reviewing and developing specific plans to maintain and improve the quality of New Rural Development criteria in the coming time./.
