Agree on policy to convert more than 1.2 hectares of forest to other uses

Of which, 1.2 hectares are currently protected forests and 0.0328 hectares are currently production forests to implement 2 projects in the province.

In the report to the Provincial People's Council, general information about the content of the proposal to decide on the policy of changing the purpose of forest use for the Binh Duong Commune Central Residential Area project (phase 2) in Binh Duong Commune, Thang Binh District, the Provincial People's Committee said that the total land area serving the project is 24.25 hectares. Of which, the investment in this phase is 21.73 hectares, the area for connecting technical infrastructure is 2.52 hectares.

The total area of planted forest proposed for decision on changing the purpose of forest use to another purpose is 1.2 hectares belonging to the protection forest planning according to Decision No. 120 dated January 11, 2017 of the Provincial People's Committee on approving the adjustment and supplement to the Forest Protection and Development Planning of Quang Nam province for the period 2011 - 2020 (belonging to lots 5, 7, 9 of Sub-area NTK60, Binh Duong and Thang Binh communes).

For the remaining project - Tien Phuoc 110kV Transformer Station and Connection Project, according to the Provincial People's Committee, the total area affected by the transformer station and pier foundation is 1.6228ha. The total area of production forest proposed to change the purpose of forest use to another purpose is 0.0328ha (location: Lot 1, 10 plots 14, sub-area 549, Tien Phong commune; Lot 4 plots 14, sub-area 548 and Lot 1 plot 1, sub-area NTK118, Tien My commune, Tien Phuoc).

After the Provincial People's Council decided to change the purpose of forest use to another purpose, the Provincial People's Council's Ethnic Committee proposed the Provincial People's Committee to direct the inspection, review, and determination of location and boundaries to ensure consistency between the records and the field, in accordance with the forest land targets approved by competent authorities.

During the implementation of projects, direct specialized agencies and localities to closely inspect and supervise investors to properly implement the permitted area for forest use purpose conversion, and absolutely not to affect forest land and forests outside the scope of the decision on forest use purpose conversion as stated above.
