
Of this, 1.2 hectares are currently planted protective forest and 0.0328 hectares are currently planted production forest, to be used for the implementation of two projects in the province.
In the submission to the Provincial People's Council, regarding the proposal to approve the conversion of forest land for the Binh Duong Central Residential Area project (phase 2) in Binh Duong commune, Thang Binh district, the Provincial People's Committee stated that the total land area for the project is 24.25 hectares. Of this, 21.73 hectares are for investment in this phase, and 2.52 hectares are for infrastructure connection.
The total area of planted forest proposed for conversion to other uses is 1.2 hectares, located within the protective forest planning area as per Decision No. 120 dated January 11, 2017, of the Provincial People's Committee on approving the adjustment and supplementation of the Forest Protection and Development Planning of Quang Nam province for the period 2011-2020 (belonging to lots 5, 7, 9, Sub-area NTK60, Binh Duong commune, Thang Binh district).
Regarding the remaining project – the Tien Phuoc 110kV Substation and connection project – according to the Provincial People's Committee, the total area affected by the substation and foundation is 1.6228 hectares. The total area of production forest proposed for conversion to other uses is 0.0328 hectares (located in Lot 1, 10, Plot 14, Sub-area 549, Tien Phong Commune; Lot 4, Plot 14, Sub-area 548 and Lot 1, Plot 1, Sub-area NTK118, Tien My Commune, Tien Phuoc District).
Following the Provincial People's Council's decision on the policy of converting forest land to other uses, the Ethnic Affairs Committee of the Provincial People's Council recommended that the Provincial People's Committee direct an inspection, review, and determination of the location and boundaries to ensure consistency between the records and the actual site, and to conform to the forest land quotas approved by the competent authority.
During the implementation of projects, direct specialized agencies and localities to closely inspect and supervise investors to ensure they adhere strictly to the permitted area for forest land conversion, absolutely avoiding any impact on forest land and forests outside the scope of the approved forest land conversion policy.
