In September 2023, at Le Thanh international border gate, the Gia Lai Provincial Border Guard Command held talks with the delegation of three border protection forces of Ratanakiri province, Kingdom of Cambodia.

In the spirit of solidarity, friendship, respect for independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the two countries, the forces informed and exchanged some situations related to border security and assessed the results of coordination in border management and protection; disease prevention and control; combating and preventing all kinds of crimes and violations of the law in the border area in the past time. At the same time, they proposed directions and measures to jointly manage and protect the border in the coming time to contribute to building a peaceful, friendly and cooperative border for mutual development between the two countries.

Through the talks, the two sides agreed to continue to effectively implement the contents of the memorandum of understanding between the forces such as: Continuing to coordinate and manage border protection according to the Agreement, Treaties, Press Releases of the two Governments and related agreements. In addition, the two sides will increase the exchange of information on the situation related to the task of border protection management, effectively preventing all types of crimes, especially drug crimes, human trafficking, violations of border regulations, immigration, import and export, illegal border crossing, etc.

At the meeting, Colonel Tran Tien Hai, Commander of the Gia Lai Provincial Border Guard, said that in the coming time, the Provincial Border Guard Command will continue to direct the Border Guard Stations in the province to proactively develop a plan to coordinate with Cambodian border protection forces, increasing the frequency of organizing bilateral patrols on the border sections that have been planned for demarcation and marker planting in the field. Thereby, contributing to maintaining border security and stability; preventing conflicts and disputes; and enhancing friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
