The Prime Minister’s spring inspections are not only meant to check and urge the progress at the construction site. They are also an encouragement to investors, contractors and many engineers and workers who are working day and night to carry out the construction.
On the morning of the 4th day of Tet (February 1), after giving the order to start the construction of the Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh expressway project, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh continued to inspect and wish a happy new year to workers constructing the T3 terminal project of Tan Son Nhat airport, Long Thanh airport, Nhon Trach bridge construction project (a component project of Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3)...
The image of the Prime Minister inspecting key transport projects during holidays and Tet has become familiar over the years. At each project, he grasps and resolves difficulties, suggests solutions and makes very specific requests.
After each New Year's working trip of the Prime Minister, the movement in projects is easily recognizable.
Remember, on the third day of Tet last year, when the Prime Minister inspected the T3 terminal project, the place was still in disarray, the construction volume had only reached 50% (the project started on August 30, 2023).
Although he knew the progress would face many difficulties, he still assigned the target to the investor (Vietnam Airports Corporation - ACV) to complete by April 30, 2025.
Up to now, after a period of continuous efforts, the project has exceeded the total progress by two months compared to the original plan. In March, it will be put into trial operation for official inauguration and put into operation on April 30 under the direction of the head of the Government.
Also last year, at T3 terminal, the Prime Minister expressed impatience because the Tran Quoc Hoan road and tunnel project connecting to T3 terminal was still in disarray, but this year, vehicles were running smoothly on this road.
After the route opened to traffic on January 23, it has shared a large amount of vehicles with Cong Hoa Street, helping people's traffic to be convenient and smooth, instead of the frequent traffic jams.
This year, on the occasion of Tet, the Prime Minister once again visited the Long Thanh airport project. This is the 6th time in the past 3 years that the head of the Government has been present to inspect and urge the progress of this key project.
Previously, the 5th time, in December 2024, when inspecting here, the Prime Minister specifically named the delayed tasks and pointed out those responsible, forcing a change in the construction organization method, with a deadline of basically completing the project by the end of 2025, without any reason for delay.
Most recently, on the morning of January 25, when chairing a meeting on the implementation of the Long Thanh International Airport Project, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Head of the State Steering Committee for important national projects and works, key to the transport sector, continued to emphasize that this is an important national project, the largest airport project in our country, of great significance, and must be done urgently because if we want double-digit growth in the coming years, traffic must be smooth.
The Prime Minister stated that the goal has not changed compared to previous instructions, which is to basically complete Long Thanh airport by the end of 2025. This is the direction of the Government and is also the content that has just been concluded by the Central Government.
So far, everything has moved more positively. The very important item is the air traffic control tower is almost completed, the passenger terminal has been roofed…
The Prime Minister’s inspections at the beginning of the new year are not only to check the progress at the construction site. They are also to encourage and motivate the investor, contractor, engineers and workers who are implementing the construction.
Moreover, the Prime Minister's field trips also immediately removed obstacles that slowed down progress, helping contractors speed up faster, helping ministries, branches and localities have a common voice and sit down together to find solutions.
Through the Prime Minister's trips, people also understand and agree more, willing to give up land for projects. During the inspection trips, the Prime Minister always reminds investors and localities to be grateful for that and take better care of people's lives.
The Prime Minister's business trips during the Lunar New Year 2025 once again show the special attention of the head of the Government to the development of transport infrastructure.
When transport infrastructure is given priority and adequate investment resources are allocated, the economy will certainly make a breakthrough. A breakthrough in transport infrastructure will be the premise for the whole nation to firmly enter a new era. In particular, accelerating progress, ensuring quality, and putting key projects into operation early are of great significance.
