The continued affirmation of General Secretary and President To Lam right after taking office and at this 26th meeting of the Steering Committee has answered the questions and expectations of a large number of cadres, party members, and people. The most obvious manifestation is that, immediately afterwards, the competent authority considered dismissing and suspending the work of 1 member of the Secretariat, 3 members of the Party Central Committee, and disciplined 5 cadres and former cadres under the Central Committee's management. The Central Steering Committee and the Provincial Steering Committee on preventing and combating corruption and negativity are not "magic wands"; even without the Steering Committee mechanism, the task of preventing and combating corruption and negativity must still be done regularly. From there, it is necessary to improve the quality of Party cell activities, promote self-criticism and criticism in the spirit of comrades loving each other, for the common good. These are very fundamental but also very difficult tasks, because they are related to socio-economic development conditions, awareness and habits of a large number of cadres, party members and people. Fourthly, Pay special attention to the work of preventing and combating negativity, because negativity, especially degradation in politics, ideology, morality, lifestyle, and individualism, is the direct and deep cause of corruption. Therefore, promoting the prevention and combat of negativity means preventing and combating corruption early, from afar, from the root. Because of this requirement, the Central Steering Committee on Anti-Corruption has been supplemented and expanded in its functions and tasks to direct the prevention and combat of negativity. In the first 6 months of this year, Party committees and inspection committees at all levels have disciplined more than 4,000 Party members due to degradation in political ideology, morality, lifestyle, violations of things Party members are not allowed to do and the responsibility to set an example.
