Under the direction of Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong, the National Assembly listened to Member of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee on National Defense and Security Le Tan Toi present a Report on explanation, acceptance and revision of the draft Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety.

Afterwards, the National Assembly discussed in the hall a number of contents with different opinions of the draft Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety.

At the discussion session, 28 National Assembly deputies spoke and 1 delegate debated. The opinions basically agreed with the content of the draft Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety and the Report on explanation, acceptance and revision of the National Assembly Standing Committee.

In addition, National Assembly deputies focused on discussing the following contents: Scope of regulation; explanation of terms; education of legal knowledge on road traffic order and safety; regulations on protecting children when participating in road traffic; classification of road vehicles; prohibited acts; regulations on prohibiting driving vehicles on the road with alcohol concentration in the blood or breath; responsibilities of drivers of road vehicles; auction of motor vehicle license plates; issuance and revocation of vehicle registration certificates and license plates of motor vehicles and specialized motorbikes participating in road traffic; age of use of motor vehicles; points of driving licenses; handling of administrative violations in the field of road traffic; supplementing regulations on deducting a portion of the fines for administrative violations of road traffic order and safety after being paid into the budget; driving license classes; effective date...

At the end of the discussion, Member of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Chairman of the National Defense and Security Committee Le Tan Toi explained and clarified a number of issues raised by National Assembly deputies.

Thursday, May 23, 2024:

Morning: The National Assembly discussed in groups: (1) Additional assessment of the results of the implementation of the socio-economic development plan and state budget in 2023; the implementation of the socio-economic development plan and state budget in the first months of 2024. (2) Practice of thrift and anti-waste in 2023. (3) Results of implementing national goals on gender equality in 2023.

Afternoon: The National Assembly discussed in the hall the results of the supervision of the settlement of voters' petitions sent to the 6th Session of the 15th National Assembly.
