Weather forecast from April 19-29
On April 20th, widespread heatwaves occurred in the mountainous and midland areas of Northern Vietnam, the provinces from Thanh Hoa to Phu Yen, the Central Highlands, and Southern Vietnam, with maximum temperatures commonly reaching 35–37 degrees Celsius, and exceeding 37 degrees Celsius in some places.
From April 21st, the heatwave will spread to the entire Northern region (including Hanoi ). The predicted highest temperature for the day is:
Northern Vietnam (including Hanoi) 35–36°C, with some areas exceeding 37°C; Central Vietnam 36–38°C, with the highest temperatures possibly exceeding 38°C; Southern Vietnam 35–37°C
The heatwave in Northern Vietnam may last until April 22nd; in Central Vietnam, it is likely to persist until April 23rd; and in Southern Vietnam, the heatwave may continue for several more days.
From April 23-25, the North is likely to experience showers and thunderstorms, with localized heavy rain; afterwards, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms, temperatures will decrease, and the heatwave will temporarily end. From April 26 onwards, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms.
On May 24th, the heatwave in Central Vietnam eased, becoming more localized and less intense; however, the North Central region experienced showers and thunderstorms, with some areas experiencing heavy rain. From April 25th onwards, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms in the evening and at night; sunny days, with some areas experiencing intense heat.
The April 30th - May 1st holiday and the first days of May 2025.
Northern Vietnam will experience little rain and a slight increase in temperature; localized heatwaves may occur around May 3-4.
Central Vietnam continues to experience hot weather, although the intensity is not as severe as in late April.
Southern Vietnam continues to experience widespread hot weather, with temperatures generally ranging from 34 to 37 degrees Celsius.
