In case a male teacher is entitled to maternity leave when his wife gives birth according to the provisions of the Law on Social Insurance, during the maternity leave, the male teacher is considered to have taught enough teaching hours according to the regulations and does not have to make up for it. In case the male teacher's maternity leave when his wife gives birth coincides with the summer vacation, he is not entitled to make up for it.

In addition, teachers' holidays, Tet holidays and other holidays are implemented according to the provisions of the Labor Code. Based on the school year plan, scale, characteristics and specific conditions of each school, the principal arranges teachers' vacation time reasonably according to regulations, ensuring the school year time frame.

How many classes does the teacher teach a week?

Based on the current situation of the team, the school's plan and the teaching hour norm in a school year, the principal assigns teachers' tasks with an average teaching hour norm in a week.

Specifically, primary school teachers have 23 periods, middle school teachers have 19 periods, and high school teachers have 17 periods.

Teachers of primary ethnic boarding schools have 21 periods, teachers of secondary ethnic boarding schools have 17 periods, teachers of secondary ethnic boarding schools have 17 periods, and teachers of high school ethnic boarding schools have 15 periods.

The teaching hour norm for a school year for a principal is determined in a school year by 2 hours/week multiplied by the number of weeks devoted to teaching.

The teaching hour norm in a school year for a vice principal is the norm in a school year equal to 4 hours/week multiplied by the number of weeks spent teaching.

Principals and vice principals are not allowed to convert the reduced teaching hour quota regime for concurrent tasks. When teaching enough teaching hour quota as prescribed above, principals and vice principals are allowed to apply the regulations when calculating the number of extra teaching hours (if any).
