As usual, the family of Ms. Doan Thi Tuyen Trinh and Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thao (Long Thanh hamlet, Binh An commune, Thu Thua district) is busy with farming work from morning to night. For more than 5 years, her family has received funding from the David Duong HTCĐ Fund .

Ms. Trinh said: “Receiving the financial support is a great joy for the family. Thanks to that, the family can “take the short term to support the long term”, develop from growing short-term crops to long-term crops and achieve positive results, significantly improving their lives”.

Representatives of VWS Company visited the jackfruit garden of Ms. Doan Thi Tuyen Trinh and Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thao (Long Thanh hamlet, Binh An commune, Thu Thua district)

Previously, Ms. Trinh's family's circumstances were difficult, with an unstable income. She and her husband grew rice, fruit trees such as jackfruit, mango and vegetables. Thanks to the capital, the couple invested more and saved time on care while still achieving high productivity. "In the early stages of receiving capital, the family's income was only 3-4 million VND/month. Now this number has increased to 7-8 million VND/month," said Ms. Trinh.

Currently, Mr. Thao's family has invested in a modern irrigation system controlled by remote; with just the push of a button, the plants will be watered automatically.

Mr. Trinh Van Tuong (67 years old, residing in Hamlet 4, Long Thuan Commune, Thu Thua District) has been farming for many years. After receiving capital from the David Duong Community Development Fund, he has been able to develop high-tech glutinous rice cultivation, while expanding his garden to grow many types of crops and fruit trees.

“I am grateful for the help of Mr. David Duong and the local government for providing capital for my family to buy fertilizers, pesticides and more modern agricultural equipment,” said Mr. Tuong.

Currently, production efficiency has increased significantly, with profits last year reaching more than 60 million VND, with each hectare bringing in an average income of about 30 million VND. Mr. Tuong also expressed his hope that in the future, the David Duong Community Fund will develop to help many families improve their lives.

The total capital from the David Duong HTCĐ Fund is 1 billion VND. This amount is allocated to agencies and organizations of Thu Thua district to mobilize and guide farmers to participate in borrowing capital to create jobs for themselves. Of which, the Fund allocates 300 million VND to the District Youth Union; the District Women's Union receives 160 million VND; the District Veterans Association receives 290 million VND and the District Farmers' Association receives 250 million VND.

Chairwoman of the Thu Thua District Women's Union - Le Thi Thanh Giang said that from the capital of the David Duong Women's Union Fund, the Union supports 3 communes. This is a resource to help members and women have the opportunity to access social security capital.

According to the Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Thu Thua District - Nguyen Van Bay, the Association supported 10 households and cooperatives to grow sticky rice using high technology, bringing economic efficiency, contributing to creating more jobs for farmers. Households with difficult circumstances have developed their economy after accessing capital from the David Duong HTCĐ Fund.

It is known that the David Duong Community Fund was founded by Mr. David Duong - Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of Vietnam Waste Treatment Company Limited (VWS), to help farmers overcome difficulties with the motto "give fishing rods, not fish" to thereby rise up to escape poverty sustainably./.
