On April 18, the Provincial Farmers' Association and Gia Lai Provincial Youth Union coordinated with Tuoi Tre newspaper and Greenfeed Vietnam Joint Stock Company to summarize and award the program Supporting Farmers in Chu Se district for the period 2023 - 2025.
Accordingly, from March 2023, Greenfeed Vietnam Joint Stock Company coordinated with Tuoi Tre newspaper, Gia Lai Farmers' Association and Gia Lai Provincial Youth Union to implement the Farmers' Support program for 80 farmer households in Chu Se district.
Participating in the program, each household receives a preferential loan of 20 million VND without interest for 2 years to develop livestock farming, and is supported with 3 million VND to buy animal feed.
The total program budget has disbursed 1.6 billion VND in loans and 240 million VND in animal feed.
After 2 years of implementation, households have effectively used capital to develop livestock farming. On average, each household earned about 8-10 million VND, many members continued to maintain and develop livestock after the program ended. To date, 75/80 households that received loans have escaped poverty.
For example, from the loan, Siu Nau household in Ia Pal commune has raised 3 breeding goats and 2 cows. So far, the goats have given birth to 7 kids and the cows have given birth to 2 kids. Income from raising livestock helps the family escape poverty and send their children to school.
Or Mrs. Rlan Van's family, residing in Ia Tiem commune, has raised 2 breeding cows with borrowed capital. Up to now, the cows have given birth, earning 32 million VND in profit. Thanks to that, her family has escaped poverty.
To encourage farmers' children to participate in the program, the sponsor has spent more than 100 million VND to reward children with good and excellent academic achievements.
In addition, Greenfeed Vietnam Joint Stock Company also awarded 320 million VND to 80 households that borrowed capital, each household received 4 million VND.
Mr. Y Kham, Vice President of the Farmers' Association of Gia Lai province, said that the program's financial support has helped many farming households develop production, increase income, stabilize their lives and motivate students to excel in their studies.
The program has truly created livelihoods, developed family economies , contributed to poverty reduction and spread humanistic values to the community.
