Türkiye wants to cooperate with Vietnam in automobile production and defense industry

(Dan Tri) - Turkish Minister of Industry and Technology Fatih Kacir affirmed that his country wants to cooperate with Vietnam in the fields of high technology, automation, defense industry, automobile manufacturing, remote sensing, etc.
Mr. Fatih Kacir, Minister of Industry and Technology of Türkiye, met with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh in the capital Ankara on the morning of November 30 local time. In the process of industrialization of the country, the head of the Vietnamese Government shared his desire to promote cooperation with Türkiye - the largest direct investor from the Middle East in Vietnam. The Prime Minister affirmed his readiness to create favorable conditions for Turkish corporations and enterprises to increase investment in Vietnam.

He suggested that with its experience in operating industrial parks (Türkiye has more than 100 high-tech industrial parks of different sizes), the Turkish side can research, invest, develop, and share experience in managing and operating industrial parks and high-tech parks in Vietnam. Turkish Minister of Industry and Technology Fatih Kacir affirmed that as an industrial and manufacturing country, Turkey wishes to further enhance the effectiveness of cooperation with Vietnam in areas of strength such as industry, high technology, automation, defense industry, automobile manufacturing, remote sensing, etc. According to him, the two sides have a lot of potential for cooperation due to many advantages and experiences that can complement each other. The Minister agreed with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's direction in cooperating to develop industrial and high-tech parks in Vietnam, and proposed promoting cooperation between Turkish electric car manufacturers and Vietnamese partners. He said this is a new but very potential field.

He suggested that the two countries continue to improve the legal framework to facilitate cooperation activities between the two countries in the coming time. On the same day, receiving Turkish Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Simsek, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that Vietnam and Turkey have important geostrategic positions and can support each other in connecting with major markets in Europe, the Middle East - Africa and Asia. The Prime Minister affirmed that Vietnam attaches importance to strengthening economic cooperation on the basis of mutual benefit between the two countries. According to the head of the Vietnamese Government, the room for cooperation between the two countries is still very large, the economies of the two countries have a lot of potential to complement each other, but the cooperation frameworks are still limited. He proposed promoting the negotiation of the Vietnam-Türkiye Free Trade Agreement (FTA), removing trade barriers for Vietnamese exports, recognizing Vietnam's market economy status; increasing the sharing of experience with Vietnam in building fiscal and monetary policies, etc.
