Children express their perspectives and ideas on preventing the harmful effects of tobacco through drawings.

NDO - On April 15, in Da Nang, the Youth Research Institute, the Tobacco Harm Prevention Fund (Ministry of Health) and the Da Nang City Youth Union jointly organized the Launching Ceremony of the Tobacco Harm Prevention Painting Contest in 2025.

The contest with the theme "For a green life - Say no to cigarettes", is for children aged 7-15 nationwide.

The program aims to convey the message: Each picture - A propaganda; Each action - A positive change; Let's say no to cigarettes together, for a green life today and tomorrow!.

The paintings must be at least 30x40cm in size, white background, no lines; freehand drawing materials, with captions or slogans. Each author can submit up to 3 works. The organizing committee will accept entries from now until June 30. The final round and award ceremony is expected to take place on July 15.

The award structure includes: Individual prizes: 1 First Prize, 2 Second Prizes, 3 Third Prizes, 9 Encouragement Prizes; Collective prizes are awarded to 15 units with the most and best quality entries.

In the context of the current increasing and worrying smoking situation, especially e-cigarettes among young people, the program aims to raise awareness, change behavior and build a healthy lifestyle right from school age.

Through the creative and familiar form of drawing, students are inspired to actively seek knowledge, express their own perspectives and ideas in preventing and combating the harmful effects of tobacco. The contest is also an opportunity for them to become young propagandists, contributing to changing awareness in the community.

Dr. Dang Vu Canh Linh, Vice Chairman of the Central Youth Union Science Council, Director of the Youth Research Institute, Head of the Organizing Committee of the contest emphasized: “The contest is an activity with profound educational significance, contributing to raising awareness, arousing creativity and responsibility in young people. Each painting is a voice, a message expressing the desire to live in a clean, smoke-free environment. Through the contest, the Organizing Committee hopes that the spirit of green and healthy living will spread and become a civilized choice of the young generation.”
