Thieu Hoa strengthens the implementation of agricultural production linkage

Linking production and product consumption is considered the “key” to developing agriculture in a modern direction, ensuring the harmony of interests of participating entities. Determining that, Thieu Hoa district has focused on mobilizing resources to support agricultural production development, creating favorable conditions in terms of mechanisms, policies, and land funds to attract enterprises to link production and consume products for farmers.

Small-scale agricultural production has revealed certain limitations, such as: products are mainly sold to traders, leading to price pressure, unstable purchasing, high investment costs for mechanization, product quality not meeting consumer demand... making it impossible for people to proactively consume products. Faced with these difficulties, Thieu Hoa district has directed communes to actively mobilize and guide people to accumulate and concentrate land; initially forming large-scale, concentrated production areas; implementing production linkages and product consumption with enterprises, namely: high-yield, high-quality, and efficient rice areas, concentrated safe vegetable production areas, chili export production areas, potato production areas, sweet corn and commercial corn production areas.

In addition, the district has created favorable conditions to attract 40 enterprises to participate in the agricultural production chain; of which, 20 enterprises are closely and regularly linked with local households; mainly supplying input materials and consuming products. Typical examples include: Tam Phu Hung High-Tech Food Company Limited, Truong Thanh Seed Company Limited, Phu Sy Chili Import-Export Company, Thanh Hoa Dairy Cow Company Limited... Up to now, the total area of ​​crops linked to product consumption in the district annually reaches nearly 2,000 hectares of crops such as: rice, corn, chili, potatoes, vegetables of all kinds... More successfully, the district has built 40 safe food supply chains, with close links between the "3 houses". The supply chains of vegetables, fruits, rice, livestock meat, poultry, seafood... in the communes of Thieu Giang, Thieu Phuc, Thieu Hop, Thieu Nguyen... have supplied the market with nearly 40,000 tons of various foods each year, well meeting the needs of people in the district. In livestock farming, some farms have also proactively linked with enterprises to supply input materials and consume output products, forming chains linking pig, poultry, egg, commercial rabbit farming...

In Thieu Thanh commune, Thieu Thanh agricultural service cooperative is considered a "midwife" in developing production and transferring science and technology to the people. The cooperative has called for and attracted enterprises to cooperate in consuming products, creating a close, long-term and effective link between enterprises, cooperatives and people. Mr. Le Van Phan, a local resident with an area of ​​rice seed production with the enterprise, said: "When implementing the contract with the enterprise, we are supported with agricultural materials. During the production process, the enterprise regularly sends staff to the grassroots to guide us to strictly implement the production processes; apply science and technology in pest prevention and control. In addition, we are able to purchase quality products at the price signed in the contract. Thanks to that, from a few initial households, up to now, in the commune, there have been more than 100 households participating in the association of rice seed production with the enterprise, with economic efficiency 1.5 times higher than commercial rice production".

The reality of local production shows that the connection between people and enterprises has created an important breakthrough, creating a strong change in agricultural production in the district; bringing scientific and technical advances into production; overcoming the situation of fragmented and small-scale production. According to the Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Thieu Hoa district, Trinh Duc Hung: The district is focusing on land accumulation and concentration to form and expand the production area of ​​concentrated production areas; focusing on training and coaching to improve the farming skills of people; supporting seeds, materials, transferring and applying science and technology to production and processing. At the same time, creating favorable conditions in terms of mechanisms, policies, and land funds to attract enterprises to invest in agriculture and expand the scale of production investment.
