The Trade Union Federation of Pho Yen City currently manages 182 grassroots trade unions, with over 26,000 workers. In order to innovate the performance of its function of representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers, the city's Trade Union Federation has focused on organizing activities directed towards the grassroots level.
Specifically, this includes: strengthening contact with union members and workers at their workplaces and dormitories to understand their thoughts, aspirations, living conditions, and income; organizing union meals and attending shift meals with workers at some enterprises; campaigning, negotiating, and reaching agreements with businesses and employers to ensure no unpaid wages or insurance contributions, and guaranteeing social welfare benefits for workers...
In particular, trade union branches throughout the city have strengthened supervision, resolution, and recommendations for resolving pressing issues faced by union members and workers; promoted democracy through organizing conferences for officials, workers, and employees; and negotiated and signed collective labor agreements...

Through dialogues, inspections, and monitoring, violations were promptly detected and recommendations for handling them were made, along with proposals for improving policies and laws; difficulties and grievances were resolved in a timely manner, ensuring the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers.

As one of the companies excelling in workplace dialogue, Hansol Electronics Vietnam Co., Ltd. has placed over 50 suggestion boxes in convenient locations, allowing workers to contribute their opinions and suggestions. The boxes are opened weekly, and company leaders hold direct dialogues with workers at appropriate times. With approximately 9,000 employees, the company's labor union has also established channels for communication with the management, ensuring that employees' rights and benefits are fully implemented.
According to Mr. Vu Hai Bac, Chairman of the Pho Yen City Labor Union, one of the activities that bears the strong imprint of the labor union is the effective implementation of activities to care for and assist union members and workers in difficult circumstances, through organizing programs such as: "Tet Reunion - Spring Sharing", "Workers' Day - Thanking Workers"...
Specifically, from 2021 to the present, the City Federation of Labor Unions has coordinated the donation of over 5,500 gifts to workers, civil servants, and laborers in difficult circumstances with a total value of over 3 billion VND; donated over 4,300 bus tickets for workers to return home for Tet, worth nearly 1.2 billion VND; helped over 125 union members borrow capital to develop their businesses and create jobs from the provincial Federation of Labor Unions' capital support fund with an amount of nearly 4 billion VND; supported the construction of 12 "Union Shelter" houses, with a total value of over 1 billion VND... - Mr. Vu Hai Bac
Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhung, a worker at Mani Hanoi Co., Ltd., shared: "Given my family's difficult circumstances, in 2023, I received over 70 million VND in support from the Provincial Labor Union and the Pho Yen City Labor Union to build a new house. During my work, I have also regularly received care, encouragement, and support from the company's leadership and colleagues, helping my family's life gradually stabilize."

Alongside the implementation of policies related to working conditions, environment, and labor protection, the "Excellent Worker, Creative Worker" emulation movement among cadres, civil servants, and workers has also been effectively implemented by trade unions at all levels in the city.
This encourages workers to actively apply new technologies in labor and production, helping to complete tasks well and improve productivity, quality, and work efficiency. During the period 2021-2025, the entire city saw over 7,650 initiatives applied in practice, generating benefits exceeding 50 billion VND.
It can be affirmed that the work of representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of workers, and implementing patriotic emulation movements, has been carried out synchronously and effectively by trade unions at all levels in Pho Yen City. This has created a significant impact of the trade union on the workforce, civil servants, and society as a whole.
