Artificial intelligence is predicted to become a powerful assistant for hackers in 2024. |
Specifically, the Global Research and Analysis team of security firm Kaspersky has made predictions about the targets of advanced persistent threat (APT) attacks in 2024.
According to Kaspersky security experts, hackers will exploit security vulnerabilities to infiltrate smart devices such as smartphones, smart wearables and smart home appliances... to form botnet networks to serve phishing attacks.
Experts warn that hackers will also take advantage of chatbots with integrated artificial intelligence (AI) to easily compose scam messages. AI can even learn from an individual's texting style to create scam messages with the same writing style as someone the victim knows, increasing the success rate of the scam.
In addition, hacktivism will also become more popular, in the context of political conflicts in some parts of the world. The increase in hacktivist activities, both destructive and aimed at spreading misinformation, destroying information technology infrastructure and cyberspace.
Kaspersky also predicts a rise in on-demand hacking services in 2024, where hacker groups are paid to attack targets on demand. In addition, attacks on supply chains or malware targeting Windows operating systems will also increase in 2024.
To ensure the safety of personal or business data, users should install security software on their computers and equip themselves with basic security knowledge to help avoid becoming victims of hackers.
