Speaking at the competition, Mr. Do Huu Ha - Standing Deputy Secretary, Chairman of Tan Khanh Commune People's Council hoped that the farmers' associations would participate in the competition with a spirit of solidarity, dedication, exchange, learn from each other, prepare rustic dishes, so that they are suitable for the nature of farmers, creating truly meaningful meals.

The competition was attended by 16 teams from 16 grassroots farmer associations in Tan Khanh commune. The teams all showed enthusiasm and excitement and prepared the dishes with the utmost dedication, meticulousness and effort, creating eye-catching meals with many attractive colors.

Tan Khanh Commune is one of the localities with the largest number of Phu Binh hill chicken farms in the district with many cooperatives and large-scale chicken production and breeding cooperatives.

At the 2023 Program to promote and connect the consumption of Phu Binh hill chicken products and Thai Nguyen province's agricultural products, a pair of beautiful hill chickens from Tan Khanh was auctioned for 200 million VND.

Mr. Nguyen Van Tuyen - Director of Tan Phu Organic Hill Chicken Cooperative (Tan Khanh Commune) - one of the teams participating in the contest said: The contest aims to promote the local key products, mainly chicken products such as hill chicken, chicken eggs and some other vegetable, root and fruit products that are the strengths of the locality.

"As the Director of the Cooperative, I see that through the program, it will create a useful playground and solidarity among farmer associations, and at the same time, it is also an opportunity for associations to exchange and learn experiences in preparing dishes for their families" - Mr. Tuyen shared.

Ms. Trieu Thi Y (Kim Bang Village Farmers' Association), the chef who prepared the dishes at the contest, excitedly said: "I think the contest held today is very meaningful, contributing to promoting the typical products of Tan Khanh commune, including hill chicken. Coming to the contest, our association used the main ingredient of Tan Khanh hill chicken to prepare 3 different dishes: chicken soup, steamed chicken with lemon leaves and chicken salad with onions. These are dishes that provide full nutrition and are safe for users because they are all processed from the main agricultural products of the locality."

Talking to Dan Viet reporter, Ms. Ngo Thi Van Anh - Member of the Executive Committee of Phu Binh District Farmers' Association informed: Towards the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Farmers' Association, the District Farmers' Association has also developed a plan to guide and disseminate to the grassroots. During this extensive political activity, in Phu Binh District, the Farmers' Associations of communes and towns have also organized many activities such as volleyball and tug of war competitions, especially the Tan Khanh Commune Farmers' Association has organized a cooking competition.

"This contest will help strengthen solidarity among farmers at the grassroots level and especially in each meal there will be 3 typical dishes from Tan Khanh hill chicken products. Through the contest, it is also an opportunity to promote typical agricultural products of Tan Khanh commune, especially hill chicken products. This will be the premise for us to continue to bring Tan Khanh Phu Binh hill chicken products to participate in trade fairs in the future, to help the locality promote and consume products better" - Ms. Van Anh said.

At the end of the contest, the Organizing Committee awarded 1 First Prize, 1 Second Prize, 2 Third Prizes, and 11 Consolation Prizes to the participating teams.
